I actually can't really remember, but at the time I remember saying to my brother that I thought he had said some really nice words.

Something along the lines of.
"ladies and gentlement we are gathered here to day for a football mach but I sure that the events of last Saturday will have had an effect on all of us as we remember that Philip O Donnell passed away after collapsing on the pitch at Firhill against Dundee Utd. I am sure I speak on behalf of all Players, officials & fans of Cowdenbeath Football club and those at Raith Rovers when we offer our condolences to the family of P O'D and pay our respects with a minutes silence"

Not 100% accurate but that was fairly close.

One other thing from the game... Dingwall's booking was ridiculous. I don't know what he thought he would achieve, he needs to cut that sort of nonsense out.

Hopefully its a one time thing though, haven't seen anything else of that sort from him.

I think it was more out of frustration than anything else. The fans bawling 'HIT UM' probably had a big role in it as well.

It was as you say a ridiculous tackle.

one poingnant quote in the phil o'donnell bit was when they guy said phil left his house on saturday to take part in the game we all love. that really brought it home to me, just like anyone going to work and not returning.
onto the game, an entertaining game until the sending off, couldve went either way. raith played well once they had the man advantage. number 2 and number 11 for raith were their best 2. ramsey for us was good, the new number 9 won a fair share in the air against andy tod which not many strikers can claim.

the ref was just plain pish, both teams suffered some bad desicions. have to say tho the linesman infront of the cowden fans was one of the worst weve seen in a long time. kenny adamson punted the ball out of play and got the throw for it then a raith player did exactley the same later in the game.

why doesnt welsh like anton, i havent seen him play much but what ive seen he looks decent. but yet he plays centre halfs at right back and leaves him on the bench, even when armstrong went off he moved gilfillan rather than bring him on. also kenny adamson is terrible, i dont like slagging players off but he was terible on wednesday and has rarely played any better than that. dougie hill at left back an dgilfillan at centre half anyone. altho injury has now robbed us of that. manson looked a bit lightweight, but the trialist who i assume was mcquade looked not bad.

proverbial 6 pointer on saturday tho, we have the indian sign over ayr just hope it lasts one more game at least

Aye Anton's never seemed to have much of a chance. The "Trialist" was Paul McQuade.

Not read all this thread, but I'm interested to know how Dempster got on yesterday?

Also, how did Templeton get on? Whereabouts was he playing? Always fancied him as a wide player rather than a centre forward.

Mostly everybody knew there was a tribute at the start of the game and the fact that the ground was in silence around 15:00 should have been been enough for most I would have thought to realise that the tribute was going ahead

And yes the game should have been delayed but people should make their way earlier to the ground as well, everybody is well aware that the pub team only open two turnstyles for us despite our away support of over 1000 for these games

Yeah you are right, hamering a pub team like Cowden is nothing to boast about ;)

your right about the people outside the ground they should have known what was going on,as for the match itself (the so called pub team)more than matched rovers up until the sending off.

In all seriousness why are so many Raith fans complete morons on p&b. You get a few that talk sense and call a game as it is but the ones who can claim they dominated the game throughout amaze me. The sending off changed the game end of story, it was an even game up to then. Not saying we would have won had we kept 11 men on the park but you never know. Overall Raith did deserve to win but only because of the first 20 mins and mainly the last 40mins.
'Terracing celebrations were suitably extreme. Indeed, the Cowdenbath faithful - all 60-odd of them - kept the rest of us entertained during the not infrequent dull moments. They regaled us with everything from "Cooper's a poof" (difficult to substantiate) to "black and white shite", a suitably assonant summary of the quality of their opponents'

That's why I reckon we'd have won anyway. We scored a goal, hit the bar and missed a sitter before Cowden equalised with their first shot of the game. Cowden very rarely threatened us at all really, and during the 'lull' period (25-60) it was really a matter of time before someone lost the plot, with the scrappy tackles all over the place. Even during that period, I felt we looked more dangerous, such as Wilson's shot being tipped over the bar by Hay.

Whle certainly the red card changed the game, I'm fairly confident we'd have won anyway, although that's easy to say now.

Templeton was quiet for spells yesterday but looks a really good player, there's no doubting he has more ability than anyone else on the pitch.

He played wide left and scored a cracking goal yesterday- video can be seen on the link

What was the score?

I've spent the last ten hours chasing David Templeton up and down the A92 in something like a scene out of Duel, by Steven King. Heading South he's just turned off on the A909 and I'm not fucking going there in a hurry!

Hahahaha!!!
Long ball (often colloquially referred to as 'hoofball') is the term used in association football to describe an attempt, often speculative, to distribute the ball a long distance down the field via a cross, without the intention to pass it to the feet of the receiving player.

It is a technique that can be especially effective for a team with either fast or tall strikers. The long ball technique is also a through pass from distance in an effort to get the ball by the defensive line and create a foot race between striker and defender.[1] While often derided as either boring or primitive,[2] it can prove effective where players or weather conditions suit this style; in particular, it is an effective counter-attacking style of play in which some defenders can be caught off-guard.

also kenny adamson is terrible, i dont like slagging players off but he was terible on wednesday and has rarely played any better than that.

Since Welsh brought in Ramsay, the left back position has been over exposed. This was blatantly obvious at Airdrie when 2 or 3 players were constantly over-running Kenny and he took stick for it. Meanwhile Ramsay was too far away to lend a hand, and this went on for the entire 90 minutes.

Wasn't at the game on Wednesday but I would assume that this is what also happened. Kenny is a good enough player but I don't think left back is his natural position. I also agree that Chris Anton should have been utilised a lot better as he did look the part in his brief appearance earlier in the season.

Think our next game might be Livingston in the cup after the recent snow fall. Hopefully some of the injuries may clear up in time for that.

So your conceding that we were the better team for 60 minutes of the game? I didn't think we dominated as such, I thought we created more chances which suggests we were the better team on the day.

Dunfermline boss Jim McIntyre must be at a loss to explain the succession of goalkeeping howlers he's witnessed from the frazzled Pars this season. I'm picturing a scene akin to Basil Fawlty whacking his car repeatedly with a branch after deciding "enough is enough!"

I don't know what game certain Cowden supporters were at. The 1 i was at they never threatened Rentons goal except for 1 bit of sloppy defending. I cant remember young Kieron having a save and i was keeping an eye out for him to let his uncle know how he played. I had nothing really to report other than his distribution of the ball could be quicker and more accurate.

Cowden did have 1 decent player..No10. i think it was.

I don't think it would have been quite so easy as it eventually was for Raith but it was only a matter of time until their constant pressure paid off.
4 BOYS HAD A DREAM. TO START A FOOTBALL TEAM. THEY HAD NO MONEY,NO KIT,NOT EVEN A BALL. THEY STILL CARRIED ON.
THE RANGERS WERE BORN. AFTER 54 TITLES WE'RE STILL GOING STRONG

Hahaha to those who queued for half an hour and paid £12 to stand on a pile of shite. The only thing that bugs me is that Cowdung made a big profit out of charging Raith fans for the privilege of being treated like cattle. I heard one of the two turnstiles actually broke down and they had to resort to collect money as fans were allowed in the exit gate. I expect once you queued to get in, queued for a pish than queued for pie you'd be lucky to see a few minutes of the game, and even then only through binoculars

I hope we dont have to play there again next season. Whatever, if we do I wont be there.

At least we got 3 points. Another three against Ross c**ty will cheer me up no end.

That's your fellow Raith fans whose support was undoubtedly much appreciated by the club's players and management. Real fans I guess most people would call them albeit you seem to categorise the vast majority of Raith fans here as idiots by the tone of your comments.

Confirms my view of Rangers fans - only ever see their own team.

Which club? the only club who benefited was Cowdung.

Clearly 'interpretation' wasnt taught effectively in Cowdenbeath schools. I said nothing about them being idiots. I think they were taken for a ride tho by your club, as I myself was last season and earlier in this one. I think its worthy of poking fun tho when they list their grievences after me and others warned them beforehand.
