The first game of 2008 is a huge one for both clubs, Brazil 1970 will know that losing this will be a huge opportunity missed to close the gap and keep the pressure on us. I think we are in for a hard game, although we've defeated them twice so we are more than capable of turning them over again. Hopefully the sweetie paper rustlers in the home crowd will get behind us, if they get on the players backs early on the negativity could again be reflected on field and leave us with little chance of taking the 3 points.

Maybe we'll see a new signing or two on the bench?

The pressure is on Stranraer for this one. We can move 15 points clear again with a win and hopefully the players will be up for it.

AFTN is strangely quiet this morning with no 'Baikie must go' threads. Seems like certain folk want us to fail just to post criticism and 'I told you so' threads.

Watched you match with Wee Rovers yesterday and although a comfortable scoreline in the end Rovers played some nice football against you and missed a good few chances as did EF, in the previous 3 games against you we just have not played or been able to handle the power of your team. We have two decent wingers who I think could exploit your full backs IF on song but to get a result against you it is imperative that we don't go gung ho early doors and concede IF we score first we are in with a shout as we are very much a confidence team.
Hope it's a decent game with of course the right result to keep a semblance of a contest in div 3.

you know what i'm actually developing a soft spot for you fifers and your over confident attitude because see if we were flying high i'd be exactly the same.

i'd become an unbearable c*nt.

if we were good enough to be challenging at the top then i'd probably hate you all.

The ups and downs we all go through supporting our teams, means that when a good (or potentially good) season comes along (usually once in a blue moon) you really have to enjoy it. Dumbarton are rock bottom justnow, and believe me we've been there, but hang in there and there will be great seasons yet, hopefully this is the first of a few of ours. We are never going to repeat the feats of the 30s and 50s but i'd like to think we could become a strong first division club in a few years.

The big task right now though is getting out of the bum league, where we have out stayed our welcome
