I can't believe I said that a few months ago.
Maybe he could be handy in the second, but seen as Andy Tod can't get a game for Raith..........

I'm not too big headed to admit I was wrong and believed that little chancer when he played well in five games to win a contract.

A guy I work with used to play fitba with Tam McManus and he say that he is a big-headed bawbag who thinks he is the bees knees. He says he is the kind of guy who can cause disharmony due to his over inflated opinion of himself.

He was also guilty of that terrible foul on Accies player Tom Parratt when his side were already 5-0 down at the time. The chants aimed at him by the Accies support that day obviously led to the red mist descending as he got dirtier the longer the game went on.

On the plus side,he was one of the few Pars players who was bursting a gut that day.If others had shown his level of commitment this season the Pars would be nearer the top.

It will be interesting to see if any offers come his way in the window. The likes of Caley,Well or St.Mirren could well make an approach.

Liam Buchanan

Agree except he needs to work on his finishing. If he was a better finisher he'd have scored at least 16 so far this season, he's still got a great scoring record though.

McManus is the only dundee player I have ever disliked.Sure , we have probarly had less talented guys play for us , but at least they put in the effort.
Tam used to stroll around the pitch like he was the best player in the world.Hes a crap player with an even craper attitude , he needs to take a reality check or he will be playing junior football soon.

The strange thing is that a succession of managers seem to rate him and give him contracts when most fans that have seen him play realise he's a total waster. His lack of effort is annoying if he plays for your team however I don't think he's got much talent either. He's slow, one footed, has no skill, rarely scores(or even has an effort on goal), never plays close enough to his strike partner, is weak and is poor in the air. Apparentely he's a good laugh though.

Motherwell? Are they seriously going to be able to dislodge Porter or McCormack with Tam the Bam? Caley and St Mirren perhaps, but why would they want someone who they saw last season getting bummed out of Falkirk, in a carbon copy of DAFC stituation? Play well for a contract then when things aren't happening don't try.

I would say that Richard Offiong is the best striker in the league by a country mile.

But as a Clyde fan, I had to look up the word "striker" in the dictionary before I posted that.

My biased vote goes to Buchanan, qualified somewhat by only having seen him play about 4 games this season. The guy has scored almost as many as Offiong in a much poorer team and has an incredible work rate. He may miss a lot of chances but with his effort he almost always gets 2 or 3 every game and if he can stick one away each time then I'll happily put up with the misses. Brilliant signing by McCall and brilliant vision to get him on a 3 year deal, the guy has stepped up from the 3rd Division to the 1st in 2 years and sadly I wouldn't bet against him making the step up again next summer, consolation being we should be able to command a good fee for him.

Such a Dunfermline like signing. Good young prospect, become interested in money, girls etc and lose interest in football. End up getting big bucks on reputation alone

Scott Wilson, Burchill, Glass, Simmons, Derek Young...need I go on

Good one. Why would he want to play for a junior side for 20 quid a week?

I would never slag Tam for his effort, just the fact he isn't very good.

Scott Wilson appart from the past few games has been one of our better players. He is a good player.

Burchill is our top scorer and kept us up single handedly two years ago.

Glass is a good player, one of best this season and has played in FA cup finals and consistently well at a high level.

Simmons i wasn't aware had a reputation? He is just useless.

Derek Young? The same Derek Young who has scored a few goals for Aberdeen and was playing against Athletico Madrid a few weeks ago. He also kept us up with a hat trick against Dundee.

At least pick better examples.
If if's and and's were pots and pans, there would be no trade for tinkers.

I agree that Liam Buchanan is an excellent, potentially great player. He was one of the few summer signings I really envied! If you are going to say who is the best striker in the league though, that title must go to Offiong. The guy just keeps banging them in.

As far as potential goes, I would say watch Ian Russell at Morton. He needs to improve his strike rate but in terms of the chances he has had since signing, he could be the league's top scorer. He gets himself into great positions all the time then fires wide or straight at the keeper. He could have had a hat trick yesterday against Dundee.

Another who will come good is Snodgrass at Livvy.
I plan on living forever! So far, so good!

You could also apply the discription of Russell to Buchs, although he usually ends up stroking one home.

As for Snodgrass, I wouldn't hold your breath. In a word - shite.

Offiong has the same number of league goals as Buchanan and one more in the Cup. Factor in Buchanan's all-round play (one of the main criticisms of Offiong seems to be his work rate) and a few assists this season and I would say he has a strong case.

Sorry I meant Darren Young but still surely if all these players were playing well you would have stayed up last year, or atleast be challenging this year

You have been bullied by players of nowhere near the same ability, or wages, so how exactly can you stick up for these players when you are struggling at the bottom

Especially sticking up for Mark Burchill who told you and all your fans to shut up. Get your head out the sand
