had to miss my first home game of season kinda glad i did now. By the sounds of it welshy needs to stick to 4-4-2 and drop players that he probably doesnt want to drop e.g david armstrong or dougie hill.
Dougie is not a left back in my opinion he can play there yes. but nowhere near effective as he is when he plays centre half. I would start with 2 armstrongs in centre def. left back kenny right back gillfilan.
welshy needs to find another striker from somewhere coz without pat clarke we are not a threat

at least my team went up to aberdeen and won 2-1 on sat - now into last 8 of scottish, only good thing about sat really.

massive game sat and really need to win this one.

Saturday was one of the poorest performance I've seen for some time. We just were not up for it and too many players were all equally as bad on the same day which didn't help. Were they out on the p!ss on Friday?

We gifted Alloa the points. At 2-0 we had a 15-20 minute spell in the second half camped in their half but never had the cutting edge and never really looked like scoring.

Really disappointing two weeks especially after the win/performance at Ayr.

The QP game on Sat is now extremely important. We have to get behind the lads and help them get 3 points or we're heading into a relegation battle. A win is a must as the next 3 games are County/Peterhead away then Raith at home.

Doesn't really matter if the Coo were poor or not, we have played many poor teams in the past and got our R's kicked, so we'll take the Christmas present without blushing.


And well done to Broonie, 2 hatricks in one season. Didn't think that he'd pull another rabbit out the hat after the opening day trebble against the 'heid. Could it be 3 on Saturday?

That is some going right enough . As for the Cowden fans saying we were gifted goals Im sure they werent near as bad as some of the presents we handed out to them at Central Park last season so we'll take it.

Nelly, agree with you. However, Dave Armstrong played well on Saturday. I haven't seen him play a bad game. If only we had got Toorie it would have made all the difference . We need a ball winner in midfield. A FAST forward would make all the difference.When Pat Clarke is playing he is chasing down every ball.
Well done to Alloa though, not their fault that we were so bad. And, again, top marks to Broonie, classic centre forward play.

A bit of a strange one on Saturday, for large parts of the game until we took the lead I thought it was one of our poorer performances and we seemed to be struggling with just one man up front. Then Jinkie managed to get himself a lot closer to Graeme Brown, provide him with a bit of support and we started to look a bit more like the team we can be.

Very well done by Graeme to get himself a hat trick and he seems to have bounced back from the Hampden game where he really looked uncertain with the two gilt-edged chances he had. I guess getting a lot more game time after his injury is helping.

After we had gone two in front we seemed fairly happy to concede possession and try to pick Cowden off on the break, which we managed pretty well adding two more goals. After our recent trips to Central Park it was great to get a finally get a good result.

I would still change things for next week against Berwick, I'd like to see us going back to two up front with either Joe Andrew or, if he's fit, Andy Ferguson coming in to partner Broonie. Hopefully we'll also have Scott Agnew back in the side, does anyone know if he was injured on Saturday?

Did notice in the last few minutes of the Ross County match that Agnew hit a pass then immediately pulled up as if he had pulled a muscle or something similar. Maybe possible he was left out on Saturday as a precaution after that or maybe the manager just decided to go with a more conservative approach for a tricky away game.

i wasnt at game sat. but i assume him along with whole team were pants.
however i have been very impressed by him as have 90% of the cowden fans. was exceptional against ayr and was ok at airdrie. Also did well against raith on debut etc. In all think he will develop to be a key player for us once he finds his feet a bit in the division.

An excellent win for Alloa and Graeme Brown's second hat trick of the Season, the fact he has now netted 8 goals despite being out injured for so long is superb.

Was a bit worried when I got to the game and noticed Scott Agnew was not playing and we were going with one man up front but that is why Alan Maitland is the best manager in the League because he knows what the f**k he is doing.

Expected Cowdenbeath to be better than they were considering the hammerings they dished out to us last Season but the fact we now have a goalkeeper who can catch the ball as a number of goals we conceded at Central Park Last Year were due to our inability to deal with cross balls.

Not sure what happens to Cowdenbeath Fans when they enter Central Park as the posters on Pie & Bovril all seem decent guys but some of the fans that go there just seem intent on spouting abuse at the opposition fans incessantly for the whole game or at least until Alloa went 3 goals up. Due to that fact probably the most satisfactory win of the Season and to the guy who shouted "You can only play on plastic"

I wasn't one of the ones shouting abuse Minertaur but I'm afraid you and I will just have to agree to differ in regard to Hannah. We were well enough served for defenders before his arrival and I reckon his signing is superfluous to requirements. Cowden's young players are doing a fine job for the club and should be left to get on with it.
