I think its time for Shire to actually win the match, but will it be another hockey result?

After the last few matches, anything is possible. We're leaking them in and scoring for fun when we want to.

Even with our strongest defence we leak goals all over the place and on Saturday we are missing 2 of them through suspension, so there should be plenty of goals.

The amount of goals that we are conceeding is grossly unacceptable. This isn't like previous seasons where we had players who wouldn't even get a game for a troop of girl guides. We have better players all over the park who were showing it earlier in the season.

Against Albion Rovers we scored 4 goals and still got beat. Against Stranraer we couldn't cope with a last second sucker punch.

I think that we're going to need to put a bricklayer in the starting 11 for going to Ibrox. If we can't match Scott Gemmill then how do we cope with Cousin or Darcheville.

Tomorrow's match against Elgin then Tuesday's match away to Dumbarton are games we need 6 points from. Absolutely must win. Then again, after witnessing previous seasons must win games I shudder at the prospect.

Oh dear.

If i give you a lift down.

"Come on Shire", When was the last time you were actually at a game? Just curious, you know?

I heard that Elgin have 2~3 players suspended/out, i would just urge the Elgin fans not to think it will be the same after we came up.

Saying that, the majority of them should be on their way down!

He looked a safe goalkeeper to be honest, wasn't too busy but did what he had to. Didn't see the Elgin goal but i heard it was a few deflections on it.

Back to the game. Both teams started off brightly, Brand smacking the post with full force. However Elgin nipped the first goal in, and 'shire responded the next minute. 1-1 at half time, fair result.

After the second half, Shire looked more alive early on, and got repaid with another Andy Brand goal, who was MotM to be honest, had a blinder. Elgin finally woke up, and started forcing the Shire back, but the match was settled after Brand got his hat trick with a brilliant solo effort if i remember correctly.

Elgin may feel a bit robbed, who hit the post in the second half (Zannder?) and a screamer of a 30 yard shot replying off the bottom of the bar and back out, but Shire looked a lot more comfortable after the 2nd goal, and to be honest it's just what we needed.

How many Elgin fans made the trip? I honestly counted about 10 and no more in the stand :(

I`d become used to seeing Elgin play in a defensive shell whenever they came to Firs Park but was pleasantly surprised to see them have a go and a very good game of end to end football suddenly appeared before us! They are not a bad team and I count this a very good 3 points for us from a game that could have gone either way - this time we took our chances and they didn`t but that`s football. Brand was really on fire today and deserved his hat trick but new loan keeper Brown also impressed me with his ability to be a lot more commanding in the box than Hill has in recent times with a few good saves thrown in - I can`t be the only one thinking he could have changed things a lot last week for us!
As to numbers of away fans - I wasn`t counting. There have been times in the past where we have travelled a fair distance with 6-8 fans max so I`m certainly not going to slag off those hardy souls who travel knowing they will be in a small group.

A decent game and both sides deserve some credit. Good to see the players giving plenty of effort and Savage looked sharp up front for Shire. In Andy Brand I think Shire have the best midfielder in the Div.
