Aberdeen avoid flare punishment

UEFA have decided not to punish Aberdeen over the flare incident that marred their qualification for the group stage of the tournament last month.

The club was facing disciplinary action as a flare was lit amongst the Aberdeen support at The Meteor Stadium during the 1-1 draw with Dnipro on October 4.

Lazio and Dinamo Bucharest have been fined for similar incidents this season, with flares - under a Uefa directive – banned from European competition.

After numerous and exhaustive attempts to identify the culprit The Dons failed to do so, but that has not stopped them escaping punishment.

A spokesman for the club said: “Aberdeen have been warned over their future conduct by Uefa.

“Thankfully, there was no fine or punishment for the flare incident.”

Who was it you were playing when they fired that flare that nearly set the main stand alight?

Im guessing it was Gretna/Killie or Motherwell. Any big teams and it wouldve been put out quickly. B)
