This child will be walking from Livingston North Station to the ground, sorry he has posted this here. Daniel, go onto the Livingston Official site, it will tell you there!

Anyway, how does everyone see this game going? I love going to Livingston and the games between us have always been close (in recent years  ).

I suggest you don't walk.

Livingston isn't exactly pedestrian-friendly and a taxi will only cost around fiver.

Excuse my sheer ignorance, but I assume this is a Scottish Cup tie?
For we're the Pars, Dunfermline Athletic,
And now we are on song,
For we're the Pars, Dunfermline Athletic,
And we'll go marching on.

No, it's in preparation for Livi's imminent drop to Division 2.

Usually there are taxi ranks within train stations, unless livi is different.

In any case you'll be wishing you saved that fiver when you see the price at the turnstiles....

That was aimed at Scottish Football pricing in general. And if I had control of my clubs pricing it would be half of what it currently is.

I would imagine the Alloa fan has just gone into shock. £12 in a round which includes non-league teams. That's probably a high percentage of the cost of a season ticket for him.

A Par having £12 in his pocket would be a shock to most people :o

Why not get a Bus from Edinburgh to Almondvale Shopping Centre? might work out Cheaper.

EDIT - No Taxi Rank or Anything really by Livi North Station.

And the point of that is??

It's a Scottish Cup tie between a first and a second division team.

If we were playing a non-league team in a public park maybe £12 would be a tad dear. But we're not.

BTW I agree that fitba' is too expensive in general but these are the times we live in and until something radical is done about prices across the board then £12 and £6 is hardly unreasonable.

If you are getting the train to Livingston North I would recommend getting the E&M Horsburgh 556 (Yellow and White) Bus from just outside the station on the main road. (when you get off the train go up the stairs onto the main road cross over and get it from that bus stop) or the First 16 from the same place.

556 is 24 mins and 54 mins past every hour
16 is 14 mins and 44 mins past each hour.

Both should cost about £1.50 maximum and both are exact fare only so make sure you have change.

They both take about 20 mins to get to the bus terminal from the Train Station.

Alternatively I would agree with the above statement that it would be better financially to get the First 27/28 from Edinburgh to Livingston Bus Terminal for £2.20. They both take around 50 mins to get to the bus terminal and from there it is only a 5 min walk. Together they make up a 15 minute alternate service. See here

Edited to add that if you travel to Livingston South there is the SD Travel 404/406 every half hour to Livingston Bus Terminal, Max fare of £1.

Perhaps if you lot get more fans through the turnstile it could be worth experimenting with these prices in your next home league match? Wonder who that is against

D'oh. You clearly do not know of what you speak.

Up the steps, not the ramp by the bridge, from the platform there is a taxi rank right at the top of the steps. But as said before the bus centre, currently recognised by the big building site that will be the next phase of shopping, is just to the North of the Stadium cross over opposite the Leisure Centre and take the steps down and you at the stadium in less that 2 minutes from the bus stops from Edinburgh.

As for that comment direct it to the Pars.

It will just be better getting a First bus number 27/28 from Waterloo Place in Edinburgh which sadly now costs £2.30 (SHOCK HORROR, save 30p by getting the bus at Haymarket Station instead if you can) but DON'T get on the First Bus 12/16 as it will take forever to get there.

When you get off the bus at Livingston Designer Outlet just turn RIGHT when exiting the bus and walk around the shopping centre and cross towards the Leisure Pool and there is stairs behind the Leisure Pool leading to the South Stand.

Enjoy your stay in Livingston and hopefully when Alloa finally return to 1st Division we might have our town centre build again.
