As Samson has been playing in the goal he has been pretty solid, but somehow I think Roy should automatically go back in when he is 100% fit. I know it sounds stupid but I honestly believe Roy is the better keeper and should go back in the goal as i feel safer when he is there! Plus with him being our captain it would be hard to keep him out the team.
I just somehow don't trust Craig in the Dundee 11.
What is other peoples opinion of this?
And would you trust your subby keeper if your 1st team 1 got injured?

neither of our keepers are that great. they both have their faults and strengths, but neither is up to much.
I'd trust Hinchcliffe over Tuffey any day though

On the 1 or 2 occasions I have seen our subby play he has done no wrong. Injury to golden balls McDonald would be his only chance of getting a start it would seem! No matter how many mistakes McDonald makes.

Kevin Cuthbert is good enough to grace any first division side. Alan Main is even better.

A combination of both would be ideal. Think of it, a good shot stopper in the Hinchy mould, coupled with a decent kicker of the ball a la Tuffey. We can but dream.

What's a substitute keeper?
I wouldn't trust ours. He's about 16 and never been tested

maybe it's just the games i've been to, but Tuffey's kicking was pretty shoddy at Dundee an St Johnstone this season and at home vs QOS near the end of last. he's rather weak in the air (admittedly Hinchcliffe isn't brilliant, but significantly better in that department) and paries a lot.
have I just seen his bad performances?

Ah Ludo roy - the man who scored one of the most amusing Pars goals of recent times, as a Mark Burchill cross went in off Roy's puss. Any Livi fans remember that one?
Sean Murdoch has played in goals for us recently, and while he certainly isn't as good a keeper as Paul Gallacher, he hasn't done too badly. With Gallacher injured along with Roddie McKenzie, it means that our current sub keeper is Greg Patterson who's only about 16 or 17. He looks quite agile and a reasonable keepr when I've seen him, but he's about half the height of me, and for that reason I can't ever see him becoming a genuinely good goalkeeper. I'd have Gallacher back in as soon as he's fit, and I think most Pars fans would as well.

Two-footed and can whack it a fair distance (Hinchy can't put it beyond the half-way line), but prone to dodgy moments. Better kicker than King Kenny ever was, though.

I think Peter Cherrie is underrated somewhat.
He has been known to pull off many Hutton-esque saves in his time (albeit not as many) although the sense of dread when a cross comes into Cherries box would mean that I would be uncomfortable with him being 1st choice on a permanant basis.

Roddie McKenzie is twice the goalkeeper Sean Murdoch is. That says a lot about Sean Murdoch.

He has pulled off one outstanding save; in the reserve game with Airdrie United last month.
I shudder to think how many points he has cost us in his time at Clyde

Tell me about it. Other Accies fans, of course, will disagree - they thought he was great
