I can't see it being much of a game to be honest. We are diabolical and by all accounts the Shire haven't played well for some weeks/months.
This is my territory be on your way...

I'll be there. Dubya, i believe i owe you a pint
you going to the bar @ 2?
I'm hoping for a good game, but with both teams not their usual selfs, might be a 1-0 thriller.

As always, it depends which teams turn up on the day. Stenny have to get it together sometime and this derby might just be the motivation they need. Then again I know that Shire can play an awful lot better than they have of late and this game might be the reason needed to pull our socks up again. For the first time in about 8 years I think we`re favourites to win this derby - I hope we can justify that!

Well, that was a more interesting game than i expected, though i'll say stenny didn't deserve that first goal. Stenny came flying out at the start and our players were caught out. But full marks to the shire, trying to get back in the first half, and we really should have had a goal from Andy Brand (Good save from the keeper) and Joe Savage (How he missed is beyond us).
Second half stenny came out and started pounding us again the first 5-10 minutes, but i think we can say there wasn't that much doubt that the shire would score eventually. After a few misses, Joe finally got a decent turn on the ball and hit it sweetly, sailing past the keeper to the right hand side. After that Shire went hunting for the second, but Stenny were trying for it as well.
Truth be told, i didn't expect Stenny to play as good as they did. We weren't on top form either, and id say Stenny got lucky with the point, but they defended well.

How the f**k can you 'not deserve' to score after 3 minutes? I take it Shire dominated the warm up?

Was in the bar looking for you Dubya, was offering you a pint
Shire started slow, and not for the first time. But i wouldn't have said that Stenny deserved the goal, more lucky in my opinion. Was a good game though.

I thought it was dire to be honest.
We aren't good enough to sit back and expect to get the three points. Gary Thom was outstanding though although could have done better blocking Sav scoring the way he did fine strike none the less. Squib made a difference when he came on I thought as well.

Have to agree with you there, having andy brand back was a major bonus for us, and squib did make a noticeable difference when he came on. Can't wait untill both are fully fit again. Mark took a belter of a blow at the end though. And i wonder how Joe's ankle is. All we need now is more injury worries.

Same old story for us, play decent football and fail to kill off a game when we are on top.
We have no real cutting edge, but Hamilton's much improved performance gives me hope for the future.

Perhaps as local derby`s tend to be this wasn`t a good game of football. Full marks to Stenny for getting the goal and toughing it out. Shire looked lethargic and simply didn`t look very sharp at all up front although we made a fair amount of chances we squandered them all. Joe`s goal was a great solo effort he got the ball and hung about the 18 yard line waiting for the shooting opportunity and placed it well. The draw was a fair result but I`m dissappointed by the way we played today.

As a neutral, thought it was an Ok game, but expected a more firey atmosphere given it was a derby - where was the Warriors support? For all their possession, I was beginning to think Shire would never score and although Savage took his goal well and Simpson has nice touches, neither looks an out and out goalscorer. Got the impression that as a club Shire are on the way up and it must be encouraging for them to have so many young supporters. Well done to the Shire Trust in providing the best pies in football.

Given that we're total shite this year there's a distinct lack of enthusiasm about our team and this is reflected in the support. In general though the wee kiddies that started going since Shire won a few games are always going to sing and stuff, I can't see those fans staying for the long haul unless Shire get back to somewhere near where they were earlier in the season.
As for the game, we did ok in parts but we're just not good enough in general. Shire had a good gameplan and Savage caused us no end of bother as usual up front, I think had Lennon been playing we might have dealt with it better - who knows?
Generally it was a poor game with windy conditions and a bumpy pitch not helping what were two bad teams overall. I can see us improving when Coughlin gets his own players in but at the moment its hard being a Warriors fan.

Thought it was a decent game, Stenny flew out from the start and deservedly scored in the first 5 minutes. Shire had 2 or 3 good chances in the first half to note; Simpson making the Stenny keeper make a good save, and Savage headed close. Savages' goal was an excellent effort, great turn and into the top corner. Stenny keeper saved a defenders blushes as he tipped a header just over the bar (would have been an excellent own-goal!).
Good value for getting in for nothing
