Points shared, move on. Not much else to say about a poor game. B)

My feelings too. Fair to say that it was like night and day in comparison to the fun and games in our previous encounter.

Felt Montrose could have been ahead first half - was extremely happy to come away with a point on the second half display. As has been said a fair result in the end.

By the way - what was the story with the guy lifted at the start of the second half at the Arbroath end? Heard a big cheer, looked up, and thought i saw him (jump or thrown) over the barrier.

Boy was absolutely hammered, went on an took a few shots, then 5mins later went on again for a penalty. Finally got lifted after what I would say was molesting Scotty Morrison!

Thought on the performance of both halves, a draw was a fair result. Montrose were obviously playing for it 2nd half and got what they wanted. We probably had more chances overall, but the first half performance meant we didn't really deserve to win.

Have to say, found it amusing seeing all the scum getting a police escort back to the train station! ;)

Yeah i was speakin to the so called 'scum' on the train and they were sayin it goes back to the game earlier on in the season when i quote' aye we lamped quite a few of them' but to be fair did you see how many where at the station had to be at least a good 25-30 those boys had no chance if the escort hadnt of been there

Wouldn't say that Montrose started out the 2nd half looking for a draw, more so Arbroath upped their game and Montrose gradually like the idea of a draw as the match progressed.
We are not playing like we did at the start of the season but are still a 100% improvement on the lacklustre performances of last season. Big complaint though - why no Gates?

Thanks to Tutties and their regulars for not even batting an eyelid as i walked in and suddenly realised i was the only Montrose fan in there at 1415hrs.

Headed across to Tuttie's for a beer after the game.

What a laugh we had before the game and after its just a pity the game didn't live up to its billing. We stopped the rot of getting beat at Gayfield so thats always a positive that has been taken from the game.

Lets move on and look forward to a couple of important away games at Clyde & East Fife.

Would have taken a draw beforehand and TBH was more that happy with the outcome given the way the wind picked up in the second half. It was like a twelfth man for Arbroath. Just one of those things you can't do anything about.

Although we could have helped ourselves out by playing the ball on the deck rather than punting it up into the face of the gale, I don't think it was a deliberate intention to sit in looking for a point. I'm convinced we would have been seen more in attack if the conditions had been more conducive in the second period.

I think it'll be a 5-5 draw, marred by a naked pitch invasion by Simonlichtie and Xbl whilst Edinlichtie sings Frankie Goes to Hollywood songs over the PA system.

Did this happen then? Apart from the 10 goals like.
how did bobby barr get on?

To make matters worse, segregation drained any final edge out of this game. The police manage to make their job easy by killing the last vestiges of interest. Who cares about the few remaining fans

Poor game, poor atmosphere.

After seeing how both teams play i think arbroath and montrose will be lucky to reach the play-offs, mcglashan needs to motivate the team back up to the level it was after he took over or questions are going to be asked of him. Game was like watching a school game the way the players bunch up, just a load oh shite.

The wind didn't help the game in the 2nd half. We copped pretty well with it and as has been said on here why we then decided to play the long ball after out playing you in the first half with passing football.

the small pitch doesnt help matters but why oh why do we keep launching long balls against wind to small strikers?

we can play nice passing football and we can haul (large) defenders (who win lots of headers against small strikers) out of position, when and how did we forget to do this??

That would be our small 115x71yd pitch as opposed to your absolutely huge 110x70yd pitch, would it?

I was unaware that installing plastic had increased the physical dimensions of your ground.

Think your being a bit OTT. Who are the teams behind us playing the incredible football? After seeing all the other teams so far this season nobody has impressed in all honesty.

If we keep playing like that we will be in trouble, read my comments on the arbroath mad page also.
A lot of people are saying "Remember, Brian Scott wasn't playing" So what are we now? a 1 man team, so if scott is not playing we won't win?
We need to play better.

How many games is it since Mo beat Arbroath?

I predict both will be in the play offs so dont panic as long as they start to play well in April/May thats when it'll count. B)

Yes it has been a perception over the years that Gayfield has a small playing surface than many others but, as you've demonstrated, it is not particularly cramped.

On a separate matter, why have AFC never tried planted a windbreak of trees on the easterna nd northern sides?
