Your at the wind up HB and i think i have just bitten big time  'a disinterested Milan side' you must be taking the piss. They will be out to beat Celtic after what happened in Glasgow. ;)

Milan will have qualified by then and they also play in the World Club Cup a week after they play Celtic (this is why Celtic's group play their final matches a week early).

I think Milan will rest their best players and play for a 0-0 so that both teams go through. This has already been mooted on another website.

Personally i don't think they will after the events at Parkhead but if you follow that Logic then surely Stuttgart will have nothing to play for and main aim will be moving up their league to try and achieve European football next season. Therefore giving Rangers an easier game? Again i don't think that will happen as they have their pride to play for.

Anyway this all a couple of weeks away....We will see and HB it is already bookmarked ;)

No.8 I made a response to your Stuttgart theory above. History shows that once Italian, Spanish teams etc are through, they play weaker teams, added to the World Club Championship aspect then......................

That is bolloxs though. You are not taking into consideration the bad feeling Milan have towards your club. It also does not answer if this theory of yours carries on for the Stuttgart v Rangers game.

Loads of Milan players said afterwards that not only did Celtic deserve to win the last match, but that they were embarassed by Dida's antics. I dont think there is any ill-feeling.

Well I don't know of any bad feeling Milan have towards our club our our support other than towards one idiot. In fact, most of the bad feeling from their side including their supporters is towards Dida hence why he did what he did in his next game at the San Siro.

I already mentioned in my previous post that I doubt Stuttgart or any club would want to finish with zero points. Would you? I certainly wouldn't. You could look at Ukraine here for example as well - they have named a full strength sqaud to face Lithuania and France despite having nothing to play for.

That was until Celtics defence centred on Dida being a dick...which he was but the People of Milan were less than pleased as was well documented at the time.

Yes, Stuttgart do have pride to play for and will therefore try their damndest. The top teams in the CL have an extensive history of not giving a sh!t on the last round of matches when they're guaranteed qualification...

Bayern drew their last 3 after winning their first 3 last season.
Liverpool were beaten by GS away after qualifying last year. In the same group PSV were beaten at home by Bordeaux after qualifying.
Needing a win to ensure qualification last season, Roma beat an already qualified Valencia.
Real Madrid and Lyon both drew their final two matches last season, having ensured their qualification (with a 2-2 draw with each other)
Celtic dropped Nakamura and Maloney, ie their two most creative players, for their final game last season, having already qualified - Balde even got a game.
Porto and Arsenal, both needing a draw to ensure qualification last season, were being talked about in the media for days before the match. Result 0-0.

But the best one of all last season was...
After 4 games, AC Milan had qualified, I'll let you guess their next two results (including a final day home match against a team needing a win to qualify)....

ach, ok, they got beat 1-0 away to AEK and 0-2 at home to a rather sh!tty Lille side.

Well as far as I can make out that 'well documented' displeasure came from a combination of unsubstantiated newspaper rumours eager for a story and from the Milan vice-President Adriano Galliani who was constantly out defending Dida when his own team-mates, manager and supporters were not.

I dont see the point in you two (No8 and Glasnost) discussing who has the easier of the run-ins. It wont be easier for either team, and the results will play out as they do.

Celtic's defence did not centre on Dida being a dick. Their defence centred on the following two things-

The Times said:

The first was the fact that McHendry was subsequently found guilty of a breach of the peace by Glasgow Sherrif Court, and not of an assault on Dida. In spite of the goalkeeper's theatrical collapse, Celtic were able to argue that the law of the land in Scotland had not deemed McHendry's action – foolish as it was – to be aggressive.

Secondly, and as a measure of the crime, Celtic asked Uefa to consider the incident during the 2005-06 Champions League, when a Spanish fan invaded the pitch in Villarreal and approached Thierry Henry with a Barcelona strip. On that occasion Villarreal were fined around £15,000.

Basically, the defence was based on the subsequent action by the Scottish Law procedure and precedence set by the second point above.

edit: OF style use of there instead of their **face flushes red**
