Against Barca i think we should got 2 up top, Darch and Cousin. We might aswell try and get into there defence.

If Smith did'nt fancy these tic-tacs at Ibrox, I would be extremley surprised to see him employ them at the Camp Nou. However if Rangers play the same way they did in Lyon, they can cause Barca problems.

Thing is in a game like Rangers will have against Barcelona they will be playing a man short with him playing, he can't lead the line by himself and isn't the type of player for this kind of game.

Do you know better than both McLeish & Smith if so why are you not the manager of either one of the top clubs in the country or national team manager ;)

That's my point though. I wouldn't play him up front in Europe but I would play him every single week in the SPL where he can score 30 odd goals a season.

Bloobell would rather punt him....

While I'd like Boyd to start, he wouldn't be the ideal candidate as a lone striker. Smith will flood the midfield, with Brahim Hemdani coming back, so I think Jean-Claude Darcheville might get the nod over him. He could do a turn if he came for the last half hour right enough.

I see Rangers lone man up front being a straight choice between Cousin and Darcheville.

Darcheville is a much more bustling and powerful player, who will cause problems in the Barca defence, even though he is not fully fit, and is very unlikely to score. If he gets the ball then his duty is to hold it up until the midfield support arrives. The problem with this however, is that under Walter Smiths tactics, the midfield support stays on the halfway line.

Cousin is fitter, is still a powerful player in his own way, and has more of an eye for goal and the unexpected. If he gets the ball then he will be looking to take it all the way and stick it in the back of the net. However, can he get through the entire Barcelona team on his own? If Smith plays him, the he will send out a message(in my opinion) that he is actually looking to score goals.

Id go with Cousin personally.
