Was thinking about this myself earlier today.

Would have to say that going up and waving at them as the descended would be great.

But beating them in a playoff would be good as well.

Would certainly make my summer months working in the "town to the west" more bearable than last years "we're in Europe" crap.

Gregory Tade:
It might be the time to show my swagg, and win the league, because hiding is not my style and, enough with: the hopefully, maybe, let's hope so and other. Let's be arrogant, and come out of the closet and say it proudly like a team who deserve it more than anybody else: We will win this league because we owe to fans and ourself. So thanks to all your support we'll deliver or try our hardest.

Yes, we can do without this kind of line.

Moreover, if we make it to the first division it would be much better to have 4 derbies against them than see them play Cowden and the Fife to big crowds while we're playing QOS or the Binos.

I'd give up the title for relegating the pars and going up. That would be excellent.

Life is good.

I'd like to win the league and have four games against the Pars to look forward to but it would be great to beat them in the playoff final.
Long hard season though, I'd take promotion by any means possible.

Cock.

I bet you're one of those people who enjoy their rivals getting beaten more than their own team winning.

Or 'Old Firm Fans' as they are better known.

Calm down, he's asking a legitamite question. He didn't say which he would prefer either. Nor did he arrogantly claim that we are cast-iron certainties to go up. It's just a "What if?" kinda question.

Incedentally I'd rather we won the league.

TBH this is the sort of thread which makes half the league think we are arrogant b*****ds.
Its only 12 games into the season....for all we know we could go on a dreadful run and Dunfermline could get some points under there belt.

It's called football banter. This is a football forum. Who gives a shit what the fans of other teams think of us?

I've seen us win the 2nd Division. Woopee Doo. I haven't seen us relegate Dunfermline F.C. while being promoted in their place.

Life is good.

I didn't really stop to think of that. If we got promoted and Dunfermline were relegated we wouldn't have a derby game :o D'oh!!!

Can't see the Pars getting relegated anyway.

Life is good.

Raith finish mid table, Dunfermline go down, East Fife go up as Champions and Cowdungbeath aren`t worth a fookin mention.

= 4 Fife teams in the second division (first time in 60 odd years) and more Fife derbies than you can shake a hot stick at!!

Happy days indeed :P

Id love to win the league outright to be honest, its another trophy.

Id also love to beat East Fife and Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup.

If we achieved these objectives, my life would be complete.
Long ball (often colloquially referred to as 'hoofball') is the term used in association football to describe an attempt, often speculative, to distribute the ball a long distance down the field via a cross, without the intention to pass it to the feet of the receiving player.

It is a technique that can be especially effective for a team with either fast or tall strikers. The long ball technique is also a through pass from distance in an effort to get the ball by the defensive line and create a foot race between striker and defender.[1] While often derided as either boring or primitive,[2] it can prove effective where players or weather conditions suit this style; in particular, it is an effective counter-attacking style of play in which some defenders can be caught off-guard.

Exactly I think it was a valid question and one a few of us were debating about last night and it's a perfectly reasonable question to ask so get off his back all of you who are having a go at him <_<

I would choose sending the Pars down in the play-offs as imagine being at East End sending them down it would be priceless B)

I really dread the playoff thing happening at the moment. The way it stands I could see Rovers quite easily beating us this season. :(

I said this to my mate (who supports the Rovers) earlier in the season that it would certainly be a close game, but we were still picking up points then and I didn't think it was likely at all that we'd be down near relegation. However, we've got even worse now and it could be a real possibility. :(

Its not going to happen.
For we're the Pars, Dunfermline Athletic,
And now we are on song,
For we're the Pars, Dunfermline Athletic,
And we'll go marching on.

I cant see it either.

I'm not one of those who has to rubbish other Fife teams. While the rivalry's natural and right I think that we shold all be hoping the Fife teams are as strong as possible. It gets up my nose how BBC Strathclyde and STV (Strathclyde TV) are so biased towards teams from the west. I'd rather be playing Fife teams in the 1st division and even SPL again than their darling teams like Ayr Morton Killie and Thistle.

No it's Kilgour asking a hypothetical question and I don't see what the problem is

If a bloody County or Ayr fan asked a question like this nobody would have batted an eyelid!

hypothetical question... we stick Kilgour, Hansa (apologies to hnasa if your not the annoying RC fan who thinks bigger budget=god given right to title) and Severus Snape in a pit and let them fight it out, who wins....

What does a scanner see? he asked himself. I mean, really see? Into the head? Down into the heart? Does a passive infrared scanner like they used to use or a cube-type holo-scanner like they use these days, the latest thing, see into me—into us—clearly or darkly? I hope it does, he thought, see clearly, because I can’t any longer these days see into myself. I see only murk. Murk outside; murk inside. I hope, for everyone’s sake, the scanners do better. Because, he thought, if the scanner sees only darkly, the way I myself do, then we are cursed, cursed again and like we have been continually, and we’ll wind up dead this way, knowing very little and getting that little fragment wrong too.
