Airdrieonians Football & Athletic company Owned it until the were wound up in May 2002, the comany brought in to deal with that winding up namely KPMG had the dubious honour of selling off the assetts to repay creditors, they sold the stadium and the club shop there were no offers for the club name.
so the name wasn't sold.
