but thats where you belong

your club struggles season after season financially that its just a matter of time before you do go down so why are you annoyed or surprised?

not every manager can work miracles especially when thats the expectation

I don't like the "where you belong" argument. People say we belong in the SPL but if you don't have a good enough side, then we belong in the 1st

Clyde have done well for many years considering their budget. Clyde do look quite a bit weaker than last year, but you have lost some really important players

Whats the situation with Imrie? Is he likely to leave in january when his contract supposedly runs out? Some thistle fans think he is coming to us, but if Nottingham forest are really interested, he would go there I presume

btw, the highlights prove your pen was outside the box.
We'll follow the the Thistle for many a day
And see all the matches at home and away
And when the game's over and Thistle have won
We'll go to the Tavern to join in the fun.

I don't think anyone really cares.

Anyway, who said we've been punching above our weight?

Clyde have traditionally been a yo-yo club between the old divisions 1 and 2. (17th-20th place) Which entirely consists of the modern day first division.

SO have we been punching above our weight for 130 years then?

Well it think everyone guessed that. Considering young Douglas' feet left the ground about the halfway line.

I dont know whats funnier, the dive or the fact it was given.

Refereeing is a serious issue in this country and something needs to be done about it. But thats easier said than done.

are you unable to read?

i am referring to the fact that in recent history every season you are tipped to go down yet stay up, that cant last forever, you dont have the structures in place to sustain 1st division football

No, I made the point that by that logic we've been punching above our weight for 130 years

Somehow I don't think that's the case,

also, I believe our crowds have been fairly static for the best part of 30 years, admittedly in the 50's and 60's we were bloody good, so naturally people came to watch us.

Thats just stupidity on the people who was tippings part, as there was absolutely no basis (apart from the Roberts season)

Unfortunately we have got a manager who can't get the best out of a squad which should be sitting mid table.

See my sig for a flavour of what I mean.

and MTJ, I would hope we're bigger than Ross County at least, they've only been a league team for about 15 years!

so you dont think that having to hold open trials and constantly having one of the poorest budget in the division doesnt put you at a disadvantage? now whos being silly

what makes you think you have a squad that are good enough to finish midtable, i certainly dont rate your players, your good players have only ever been good at one club (clyde) which is never a good sign so tell me the clubs who you feel you should be above taking all the factors into account, only one i can think of is stirling since they are part time and have just come up, apart from that if i were a fan of any other club id be embarrased to finish below you

Clyde must pay the lowest, or at best second lowest wages in the league. They have done for years, so why anyone would assume you should be sitting mid-table is beyond me. This league is very strong this year in terms of the fact that there is no diddy team that we can guarantee will be bottom come the end of the season.

I wouldn't say Clyde "belong" in any league, but you have to accept the reality of the poor finances at Broadwood and that anything above fighting relegation on the wages you are currently paying is punching above your weight. You've done well for years up until now but that shouldn't put extra pressure on Hendry with what is a very difficult job.

Incidentally on the penalty I still think it looks too close to call, it's in the air and a very difficult decision for the ref to make, I can't believe some people don't think it was a foul, Robertson went right through Imrie.

erm, I mentioned that the Roberts season predictions were justified, that is the only season we have held open trials (which incidentally, worked)

Money buys you players. Which we have.

13 of the current main 20, were part of a team which finished 5th (only one or two are questionable as to whether we should have retained them)

Kirkup, is on loan and is now backup
Bestvina, backup
Wilson, experienced and has proven himself at this level - appears to be fit again and doing a grand job
Smith, Appears to be a real prospect, definately does a job, although he may struggle to keep a place from Masterton, MacLennan or Wilson
Cardle, effective playmaker on loan
Valentim, barely featured
Wilkie, not featured

So thats 16 who should be able to take us to mid-table, another two could (we haven't seen yet) and another two, while not great, can provide backup in an emergency. Thats not even counting the many promising youths such as Doherty, Callum McGregor, Carrio etc.

The money has been spent, and spent wisely, credit to Hendry for doing that.

But there is no end product, by baffling team selections, confusing tactics and not doing anything to fix the problems until the 80th minute.

THATS what we're pissed off about.

your players are average at best, i know i wouldnt take most of them and most other squads wouldnt, its called exposure, you think there good cause you see them every week but lets face it they are the rejects of the rejects, all the good rejects that you picked up have moved on so your left with the dross
