Perhaps a more comprehensive post later once I've calmed down.

Pretty boring first half, which involved some nice interplay amongst our midfield trio. David Rowson is head and shoulders above most midfielders in this division.
Start of the 2nd Gary Harkins floats in a nice ball to the edge of the box, Twaddle rises well to head it into the middle, and Chaplain sneaks ahead of the last defender and slots it in the corner. Having 3 in the middle allows Chaplain to focus on making these sort of runs, and he does it so well
We sneak a free kick on the edge of the box, and although Clyde's wall is about 5 yards away, Rowson has time to slip the ball to Harkins who powerfully finishes bottom corner. Quite similar to a goal Masterton scored against us at Broadwood last season
Clyde's penalty was probably a foul, even though I wasn't sure it was in the box. Robertson tries to hoof the ball, thinking nobody is behind him, and Imrie jumps infront of him. Robertson connects with him, then Imrie slots the ball past Hinchie.
Clyde could have snatched it at the end but I thought that would have been harsh. I don't like moaning about refs but I thought freeland was awful for us. Every time keegan went up for a header, he was hit from behind, and got nothing. Similarly quite a few challenges we made were given as fouls, then Marvyn Wilson repeatedly did similar challenges and got nothing
Good win, and hopefully carry it on next week. 3-5-2 brings a solidity to the defence we used to lack

David McGowan missed a sitter and Mikey McGowan took on a shot that he really shouldn't have because he thought it stood a better chance than putting it into the box, had he had someone like Valentim to aim for a goal would have been alot more likely.
Why isn't he getting a look in though, it is clear from the two reserve games that the guy can score. In fact he nearly did against Livingston too! Instead, we play two wingers.
If McGowan starts next week and missed chances cost us, Hendry should recieve a formal warning.
If we don't beat Montrose, he should be sacked.
On a yet sadder note, both of the defences records which I was banging on about came to an end. This again, is down to us not having a striker, the midfield was trying to forge out chances for themselves to shoot as they were our most clinical finishers (worryingly) this left the defence exposed.
Hutton appears to have taken a huge dent in confidence after last week. He dropped about 4 crosses.
Either that or someone put oil on his gloves.
On possession and quality of play, it was a very even game but we were punished for not having a striker on the park, I dare say I'm not the only one who is getting pissed off with him starting Div McGowan. He's not ready to start at this level, and he's not a fucking striker!

After this point Partick started to come into the game some more, winning several corners and getting balls into the Clyde box, needless to say though we dealt with them pretty well for the first forty five.
The first half overall was pretty even. Only with Clyde having the most clear cut opportunity to gain a lead.
In The second half...
Thistle took the initiative almost straight away, and a diagonal ball played upfield by Harkins (sp?) was headed across goal; Scott Chaplain's smart front post run saw him glance this inviting cross into the Clyde net for 1-0 Thistle. Disappointing defending from a Clyde perspective.
Clyde attempted (meekly) to find a way back into the game but try as they did could not break through Thistle. Rather strangely it was only after Thistle struck again, for their second, that Clyde really made a fight of it. Though Imrie converting a penalty around five minutes from time wasn't enough to get anything in the end.
To surmise, the quality of Thistle's finishing won them the game & Our lack of a cutting edge lost us it.
How long will we leave this unaddressed?
David McGowan must be ousted, and McLennan used in moderation. (This being only a couple of things from the large list of things that I would do differently from Hendry.)

I'm guessing that'd be from the 5 or 6 minutes your number 5 took to take a couple of throw ins.
I've said before I admire Div McGowans attitude but he is never a forward in a million years and should not be started there again. Playing a 17 year old midfield player up front could be justified if we had injuries etc or if he was banging in the goals. 2 goals this season is not a good return and we had 2 forwards that didnae even make the bench today to give him a game.
We're not scoring goals anyway so why not give someone like McKenna a run in the team to hopefully build some confidence. Despite the 10 minutes I saw of Valentim a couple of weeks ago, he's shown in the reserves (and from half time warm ups) that he can finish. Give him a game! We have nothing to lose - we are bottom of the league and are not scoring goals as it is!!!!!
I also think there is a place for Bradley in the team. Basically our front two should be any from McKenna, Valentim, Bradley or Arbuckle.
McGowan and Cardle are without a doubt our weakest forward line on all the time I've watched Clyde.
Thats the last 2 games at Broadwood I reckon that the 11 players on the park at full time would have taken something had they started. You're getting it wrong Hendry.

Thistle came, defended reasonably well and scored a cracking second goal. Purely deserved to win as they took their two chances, whilst we spurned our several.
Referee actually had a decent game.

Other posters have summed the game up pretty well, so I don't have much to say. We won because we played the way Clyde usually play against us at Broadwood - we defended resolutely and took our chances when they presented themselves.
I'd like to focus on two players, though:
David Rowson - fantastic. That old cliche of covering every blade of grass on the park was created for performances like his. Signing him until 2010 was a great piece of business by McCall.
David Hutton - Clyde fans better hope he packs the 'keeper gloves next week and not the marigolds. Shocking.

I wouldn't mind giving Christian Smith a go up front, with Arbuckle or Bradley or Cardle playing off him. He wins balls in th air, has the strenght to hold the ball and packs a shot. Can't be any worse than what we've been persevering with so far.

Niz - sorry to say this but doesn't alter the fact that you are the worst team I've seen in this league this year.

Over both games or just the first? Last week's result doesn't say much for Dundee if we're "the worst team" in this league. You were lucky to escape with a point.
