A fair result in the end - Stirling would have won had it not have been a haresh sending off,
Tjhe equaliser was signposted for 15 minutes before, but we didn't heed the warnings.
I may be rather drunk but there is no way Morton d3eserved to win - we simply did not desetrve 3 points for such a poor 2nd half performance.

Good day today, cheers to all the Stirling fans that made it Gourock.

Honestly thought we were the better team and should have buried Stirling. Certainly in the 1st half we could have won the game, only chance I remember for Stirling was when our keeper got caught in no mans land and the guy dealyed his shot which was stopped on the line.
We had a good few decent chances and looked far more of a threat.
Stirling certainly started the 2nd half well and their goal was coming.
Don't think the red card did us all that many favours tbh. Just ensured that Stirling would settle for a point, where as if they'd had 11 men it would have been a more open game which would have found a winner from someone.
The penalty... fckin hell, total disaster. Thought if we'd edged it then it would have been the right result, as it was Stirling will def be the happier side with the point.

VT. i think you may be correct about buying or consuming drink, you are wrong about the sending off. McKenna clearly barged Greacen on three occasions for his first booking ( pointed out by the ref ) and when he was booked later had to go. Maybe a bit soft, but thems the rules, remember last week, refs decision stands. Thought we scraped a draw today from the jaws of victory.

Really don't know what happened today, we started well but then seemed to do absolutely nothing after that. Stirling started to take control of the game in the first half without really creating much, their number 11 looked quite a good player. Even though Stirling were probably playing slightly better I was still pretty confident that we could break up the park and score a second pretty easily. How wrong I was!
After the break we couldn't get a kick of the ball and their goal was well deserved. I didn't really see it (behind a pillar) but heard it was a f**k-up by Greacan?
Just before the goal McInally had taken Walker on for Gardyne, putting McAnespie in centre mid (who was having an absolute shocker). You could see he was looking for a bit more strength in the middle of the park as we were getting completely outplayed but it just didn't happen. Was no surprise to see McAnespie go off just after that.
I thought Stirling had 2 decent penalty appeals turned down, one hit Harding's (?) hand but looked like it just played him. The one after was where Harding was all over Cramb but somehow the ref gave us the free-kick for backing in. The sending off was probably right, 2 bookable offences.
Then, step up Jamie fucking Stevenson. Hero Boy. Harding did well in the box, a wee step-over and he was brought down. Stevenson (just on the park and all he had done up until then was 1 blocked shot and a couple of mis-placed passes) then grabs the ball. Everyone around us was asking why the f**k Weatherson wasn't hitting it. Anyway, boy wonder then skied it, one of the worst pens ever.
Can't believe that we didn't create more against 10 men for nearly 20 minutes, it was a really, really poor performance. Okay, Stirling probably were the better team and, on reflection, a draw was possibly all we could have hoped for after that performance. It's ridiculous saying that, though. With all due respect to Stirling, these are games we should be winning. Not good enough at all.
ill comment on the game later, but first game we played stirling last season we were drawing 1-1 and got a penalty and weatherson hit the ball even higher than stevenson, he hasnt been allowed to hit a penalty since so imo stevenson was correct choice to hit penalties.

First of all, a huge thanks to Jim and Sean and the rest of the Gourock boys for some tremendous hospitality today, a great wee pub, good buffet, and some good banter. Cheers guys, that will definitely be reciprocated at some point in the future.
As for the game, a draw maybe just about right, but the ref totally ruined it for a needless sending off for McKenna. Honestly, two fouls, two cards?? Totally ridiculous. Morton pinned us back for most of the first half without ever really testing Christie in goal, although the goal they scored was a cheap one to lose. 2nd half was a different story, at least until the sending off. Until then, we were excellent, and I honestly thought we were gonna win it. Out goal was soft from a Morton point of view, but I was going too mental by that stage to care.
Overall, a hugely enjoyable game of football and a great day out. Nice one.
stewarty, a fair view of the game but i can tell you that your strikers first booking was for persistand fouling, 3 fouls to be precise which the referee pointed out when booking him, he was warned after the 2nd foul he'd be booked next time. the 2nd yellow card was for a blatant pull back when our player was running away, although you dont normally see many red cards for this, if your player hadnt been booked already he'd have got a definite yellow card for it so imo he should have been sent off.
we just cant seem to beat stirling, and it doesnt surprise me, theyre an excellent team although funnily enough i dont think theyre as good as they were last season.
i thought first half we were on top, when we scored it looked like we could run away with it but stirling finished the 2nd half better.
i also thought we started the 2nd half better for first 5 minutes then stirling dominated until the sending off.
good luck to stirling and i can see a top half finish for you because as a team i dont see many teams better than you, if you were full time id probably tip you to be chasing promotion.

Today was the last straw, McInally has to go. Stevenson & Templeman should never play for Morton again.
1) although our marking may have been poor, you wont see a better delivery than the corner stirling put in all season.
2) stevenson was our only chance of creating something when he came on, i thought he showed that if you play him in the centre he can control a game, obviously its hard to come on as a sub and try and make a major impact in the game.
3) templeman came on, obviously for us to try and kick the ball up the park for him to flick the ball on, which is exactly should have happened when you put 3 up front. but as soon as he came on we started passing it along the defense/midfield because stirling put 9 men behind the ball. not one morton player played terrible today. stirling deserve more credit than theyre getting, theyre an excellent team who have lost 2 (i think) games this season.
4) did anyone else notice in the first half the ref blowing his whistle to give us a free kick and then giving a throw in to stirling instead because of the linesman? im telling you theres a conspiracy in this league against morton! they did something to the ball aswell to make stevenson miss the penalty so badly!

Now, I don't think Templeman is good enough as a goal scorer in this division. However, as a player, he can be an asset, and he was definately underused because of Stirling's play. The people in this thread that say Stirling outplayed us are absolutely right. They adapted and realised what it took to deal with us and got it sorted. Templeman had a decent chance towards the end btw, and he never took the shot.
