In response to the morton fans posting the odds of 4/1 on a morton win ;)

I'd say the score is probably going to be around 4-1 to the super Accies

We have had our wee slip up with the draw to Livi and a bad 45mins at Perth.

Its back to winning ways for Accies.

Sorry to see some arrogance appearing in some Accies posts. Probably tongue in cheek as mostly they are level headed supporters enjoying a good run.

Anyway my advice for Morton would be to ask Owen for a shot of our plastic pitch or use one nearer you. That will get you used to the surface then you simply go to NDP and beat them or at worst get a draw. Like we usually do. ;)

Arrogance

Accies fans think we will win, morton fans think they will win ? where is the arrogance ?

That said, our optimism is on a firmer basis as a look at the table, recent form and our home record over an even longer period when Morton were not even in this division, will show.

Not much arrogance from Accies fans.Morton fans buoyed bya good run think their team will defend and beat Accies on the break.
Just normal fans of both teams thinking their clubs will win.Looking forward to a good game, but I feel last week will have sent confidence levels soaring at NDP,hence my prediction for a 2 or 3 goal win with Accies getting one or 2 late goals after Morton have to come out and chase the game.
I will be interested in seeing how Iain Russell fares against the Accies defence as he was rated while at Brechin. Also,Stevenson whom Accies couldn't raise the transfer fee for last season.

Having played us already at Cappielow and winning and being top of the league I would be surprised if any of the Accies fans didn't think they were going to win.

We're playing better now and have finally started playing some players in their correct position so we have every right to be quietly confident. Although I dont think our defence will be too clever with Offiong.

I reckon we could sneak a draw from this game but we would need to score first imo.

I think you will find we will have two up front on saturday and will attack.

We wont! Not that I'm complaining, mind you, as our 451 seems to be working a treat at the moment.

I would be inclined to match up with your formation on saturday, and drop Russell to the bench for another midfielder, probably Gardyne, as i think this would give us the best chance of actually winning some balls in midfield, which looks to be the foundation of Accies success so far this season. If we go with 4-4-2, I can see us getting overrun in the middle of the park as Neil, McArthur and McArthy all seem to be really good players who, I feel, would dominate us unless we drop and extra man into the equation. We could play Gardyne wide left and move Stevenson inside, where he is more effective anyway. Other than that it would be the same side that won the last 2 games.

Should be a decent game, and i think we'll compete a lot better than we did in the game at Cappielow.

That's all I'm hoping for at the minute - it's hard to see past this Accies team at home. Looking forward to the game though.

Interesting comment from Billy Reid in The Hamilton Advertiser that Accies have had 7 shut outs in our ten games this season.Proves the old adage that Big Marko is the key to keeping clean sheets. It shows also what we could have done last season with the Big Man in the team as he only played 5 games.
Both Billy Reid and Alex Neil acknowledge Morton as a footballing team, but expect teams to come to NDP and sit in,frustrating the team and fans. Will be interesting to see McInally's approach to the game tactics and formation wise.

Hope they expect that on Dec 15th. If they do we'll hit them hard on the break and get our usual win there ! Not that we will sit in. ;)

I'm under no illusions that Accies will collect the 3 points no bother tomorrow.

Morton are no mugs, they'll come to NDP with a well set out game plan to get a point and all 3 if the opportunity arises.
I'm expecting to see Weatherston and Russell up front for Morton tomorrow and apart from St.J in Perth I think those 2 together will pose the biggest threat to our defence so far this season.
Their defence may be a bit dodgy, and I expect Accies to score at least 1, so Morton will do well to come away with anything.

Our defence isn't settled now with Parratt out for 4 months, and hopefully BR sees sense and doesn't play Swailes, Gibson or Stevenson should hopefully come in at RB to keep the rest of the defence as it has been.
Everyone else is fit apart from Paul McLeod with Taylor a doubt, so I'll go for a narrow Accies win, with us hopefully lining up:

Halliwell
Gibson; Elebert; McLaughlin; Easton
Winters; McCarthy; Neil; McArthur; Gilhaney
Offiong

Subs: (GK Cerny; Stevenson; Wake; Swailes; Crawford)
ALL ABOARD THE BILLY REID RELEGATION EXPRESS, CHOO! CHOO!

Hamilton are flying high just now but come December and January time I would expect them to fall away, perfect plastic surfaces will not prepare you for the surface water and mud come winter time.

and I fully expect to take 3 pts today. ;)

Thats a great point, our players are not used to poor grass surfaces.

And our away record this season has been appalling. I mean, only winning 2-0 at Morton, 2-0 at Clyde, 3-0 at Thistle, 5-0 at Dunfermline etc etc.

Absolutely shocking Reid. Sort it out.

Correct. As last week showed we can only play on plastic.

I did not say you could not play on grass did I?

So..

was East End park suffering from the effects of a long winter with a heavy surface with lots of water lying around? I think not. Time will tell and I for one expect your fall from grace.

I think there is every chance we could fall from grace , but i would suggest good opposition challanging at the top and our young, thin squad as valid reasons rather than poor grass pitches which the players have played on for years and years and we do train on grass as well as plastic.

Ominous noises from NDP re an injury-depleted team - Parratt and Taylor certainly out, perhaps others. I just hope it's nobody from the spine of the team, as we would especially miss McLaughlin, Neil or Offiong. And I hope Elebert is kept at centre-half and not shunted out to right-back.

May be one or two more kids will come in, but I'm not looking to make excuses. I'd still expect us to take three points today.
Accies: a successful wee club

17 year old Grant Evans is to come in at right back accord to the Daily Record. I'm a bit surprised because I thought Stevenson would have been put straight in.

Accies 2 - 0 again even though Morton are on a decent run.

If you have a natural right back even though he's a young lad, it makes sense to play him rather than mess around playing a more experience guy out of position (which would be the Jim McInally solution). I have a lot of time for Billy Reid and he seems to be a pretty astute manager.

Having said all that, here's hoping Jamie Stevenson rips him to shreds down the left
I plan on living forever! So far, so good!
