Another 3 points for us today but another less than convincing performance. Neither goalkeeper really had a save to make in the first half and it was a scrappy affair. We were awarded a penalty after a handball and Dougie Cameron made it 1-0. End of half.
2nd half we played a bit better and created more chances without the cutting edge but on-form McManus killed the game with a nice finish to make it 2-0. Tweed had a header well saved as we looked for more goals. We looked comfortable today as McCulloch had little to do. A good win and still 5 points clear.

Fair to say the penalty was of the soft variety. I thought it was for leaning on the striker but it does appear to have been given for hand ball. How anyone could deliberately handle a ball deflected of an opponets head as you challenge for it beggars belief. Those are the things that happen to you when you are down.
It also came at a bad time for us since we had just lost our captain to a shocking late challenge by Blackadder. Fortunately it looks like he has not broken Garry Kelly's ankle but it wasn't far off. I hate that sort of challenge and he could have had no complaints if he had been given a straight red.
Our heads dropped to much after that one decision though and the second half was a non event. East Fife's defence was very impressive, I don't see them conceeding many goals over the remainder of the season. A physically dominating team who although might not entertain much will certainly get the job done. Could we have some of that please?

Smart was immense throughout the game and I also thought Fotheringham, Walker and McManus played really well.
I still think Shire will make the play-offs along with Arbroath. The last spot will probably be between Elgin, Montrose and Dumbarton...

Can i first say that, from the 'shire fans at the game, we can only apologise to the travelling Fife fans for the uncalled sectarian singing from the 7 or so fans behind Willie's goal in the second half (Or that's when i at least noticed them), as they were, as far as we know, not connected to any of the normal 'Shire fans at the game.
I haven't had a chance to see the penatly decision again, but i'm presuming handball is the only available answer. Seems pretty damn soft though, and i doubt many of the travelers could disagree. We matched EF in the first half thanks to yet another 4-5-1 defensive style, but after the penalty, we didn't look like we could do it. We had a few decent chances from free kicks either side of half time but never got anything from them.
Good to see the largest traveling support for a while down there though. As was expected, EF are still one of the most physical sides in the 3rd division, and i can't really see past them to go up. But with a few players out, it looked like we improved as well, and didn't collapse, which i was glad for.

Off course you are unsure why the tactics are baffling. Your complete ignorance of the club and ability to take part in an adult coversation explains that.
Surprsie surprise once again you come out with the finance line. Truely pathetic since every time I have asked you to explain it you dodge the question.

Bobby did well, put in a good shift. We have so many options up front , I have no idea what the best partnership is just now. I suppose it is the proverbial "good" problem but I would find it difficult to keep the likes of O'Reilly, Gordon, Nicholas, McManus, Linn and Walker all happy right now.
Not complaining like, just an observation...

Good to see he's playing well, hope he scores a fair number of goals for East Fife while he's there, I'm a big fan of Linn, he's just not been given a fair chance at Morton YET.
Seems like you lot have a fair few options to choose from, which can be usefull when injuries/suspension begin to appear.
All the best.
