That`s ok then....put your arms out and it`s not a penalty !! The penalty was given for Sharp`s pull on Hislop because he was beaten for pace.

so if he was pulled backwards why did he fall forwards?

I'm sorry if you think I'm biased but the only people who could tell it was a penalty or not were Sharp and hislop , The airdrie fans who it was right in front of and the two ball boys who were standing in front of the goal. The stewards may also have seen it but the linesman and ref didn't have a clear view so shouldn't have given it. Surely they always give the defenders the advantage so why not in this case. I can guarantee it was a dive and therefore not a penalty.

I think it was probably a dive. I dont like these things happening in football, but unfortunately cheating has become part of football tactics. If it was a dive, we'll accept the two or three points it got us, just as we are pissed off like Airdrie fans are now when we feel cheated, which has been very often. Cheating and conning applies to every team I have seen this season, which I must say includes Airdrie.

The referee didn't know what to do as the second Hislop went down, I had a look at the ref who looked straight over to the linesman and then pointed to the spot.

At the end of the day it was given and there's nothing we can do about it, it wasn't a penalty for me then and still isn't now but these things happen in football.

Could have been worse, the ref could have made a right arse of it and sent big Sharpy off for the offence as well.

We were ripped off in the same way against St Johnstone at the start of the season. It was never a penalty either.

Aye, but who really cares about the challenge cup? Our win against Airdrie was far more important.

It doesnt change the point, that shite refs who are easily duped by cheating players ultimately spoils the game for everyone.

There seems to be some contradiction between your first and last sentences there.
(Edited to say - sorry, no there wasn't, I hadn't read it carefully enough. I disagree though, the linesman especially was better placed to spot a shirt tug than anyone in the away stand who would've been in front of the incident.)

Don't mean to get into too much discussion of this because the video isn't conclusive - but having seen it I think it was a much better shout for a penalty than I thought at the time.

Because he was running forwards. Try it.

Anyway, that's my last look at this thread, time to look forward to this Saturday.

Okay I have taken your comments on board then looked again

this time i have it paused on 2:20 the ball and both player are outside the box Sharp has his left hand on Hislops bicep area ( roughly) quickly unpause and pause again both players are on the line there is no contact between the players, sharp has both hands by his side, quickly unpause and pause again sharp now has both arms outstrectched hislop is still on both feet only now both players are inside the line ( you know the drill) Hislop has now died by all accounts

so I'll concede you a very soft free kick outside the box, anything else is just disgracefull bias and will result in you being on my list of " people who's opinion doesn't count" for future debates, most of your fellow fans agree it was a dive and that sometimes you get them and sometimes they go against you swings and roundabouts and all that.

I look forward to our dodgy penalty in the next few weeks

Graham Weir was sent of against Airdrie in the first game of the season (Limiting our attacking options for our next game) because the 'keeper decided to blast the ball at his arse - there's the swing.
We get what some claim to be a soft penalty- there's the roundabout.
