Another Saturday, another sickener!
We actually didn't look too bad in spells yesterday, although playing a defender in left midfield and a left midfielder up front just didn't work. Bizarrely, there was a striker on the bench (Pat Walker) who must now be wondering if he has any future at Rovers, especially when the manager goes to such lengths to avoid playing him.
All of that said, the better team did win. We might have got back into it after Peat gifted us a goal (the only positive thing he's ever done for Rovers, even though we employed him for a while), but really didn't create very much at all despite moving the ball well in parts.
Shipyard next week - that's a hiding to nothing for us. We'll be expected to win well, and will get slaughtered by all and sundry if we don't.
Albion Rovers V Montrose
Should be a Belter!

I would agree that we were the better team, had a few chances before we actually scored. When we scored the second I thought that we would go on to comfortably win, but Peat chuckin the ball into the net seemed to wake up the Rovers and they started to dominate and looked dangerous. we gradually regained control and sealed the win towards the end. If Rovers played with the tempo with which they played after 'they' scored, they would be a decent team. Rovers fans may think the ref was harsh for dishing out at least 3 bookings for dissent, but I would say the ref was correct-too much questioning of the ref goes on in football these days, and Rovers were at it all day.

Was exactly the same starting eleven as against Elgin so it was Peat, Cumming, Dobbins, McLeod, Gardiner, Davidson, Gibson, Andreoni, Stein, Baird & Rodgers.
Would have to Dobbins prob shades it as Man of the match for us anyways as he dealt with everything in the air looked solid with the ball at his feet and he chipped in with a goal.

I thought Cumming played well yesterday. Dobbins was probably my man of the match too-looked calm and assured all day and as previous poster states won just about everything in the air. Midfield as a whole also played well. A good solid performance at a difficult venue, with flashes of some really good incisive fitba.

How did Hugh play on the right wing? Iv not been a fan of him since hes moved from the right back slot but cumming seems to be doing ok there. Would rather have Gates on Wing tho!

Davidson did well yesterday, I must admit I haven't been impressed with him so far this season especially at right back. He doesn't have the positional sense of a full back and to my mind he was at fault for the Dumbarton goal a couple of weeks back-but then again if he is played out of position, you can't blame him too much. He was at right midfield yesterday and played well.

Dissapointment yet again.
Thought it was a poor game on the whole, bad tempered, fiesty.
It petered out near the end and neither team showed great skill.
Montrose deserved the win and we can't take that away from them.
Aww Well Pollock and Burntisland next week, lets hope we both progress B) .
