I think they will certainly go. The finances at Dundee dictate they cant afford to gamble on not getting promoted and losing the kids for free. They could probably get over 600k for them and that could mean a hell of a lot for dundee. I know they may go up, but it is a four horse race and losing those kids for next to nothing must be to much a risk.

Whos in that 4 horse race?

However, it will take a lot more for him to reach "Dorus" hero status :)

I'd say he's better than Dorus.

I have NEVER rated McKenzie and never felt confident with him in goals, Murdoch is a bit lightweight and young as well.

My Aunt used to look after Roddy McKenzie. She would drop him on his head.......just for fun.

1p in the £1?

Someone was right earlier saying its a sad situation when diddy clubs like ourselves end up in this situation. Bringing through young players has to be a key agenda but everybody is screwed.

I would like to think that Mcdonald/Robertson/Dixon would show a bit of loyalty but at the end of the day there are mortgages to pay.

On that note are their other guys coming through at Dens worth watching out for?

why would anyone pay 600k+ in january when they will be up for contract renewals in the summer? no one will pay this so chances are they will probably stay til summer, dees have said there would have to be significant fee for them to leave.

In truth, do any First Division clubs have the reputation to command transfer fees anywhere near £600,000, never mind have the financial solidarity behind them to reject such a bid if it came knocking?

Bottom line is
No team will pay over the odds for players nearing the end of their contracts
Dundee will not sell for peanuts as its not worth it
Probable scenario is they will stay till the end of the season if we go up they will stay although maybe lyle could get bombed or we stay in div 1 and probably lose all 4.I can understand other teams hoping they will be sold, I would be the same but dont think it will happen.

We were all victims of Dundee's reckless spending. Scottish football as a whole was a victim.

And as one of those victims I'm sure you can get some counselling. "NURSE! THE SCREENS!!"

No wonder you've got a question mark. Never let the truth get in the way etc etc.

No i was seriously interested that was all. Its not a light hearted situation and i've got admiration for everyone who rallied and brought the club through. No agenda pal it was a genuine question.

Are Dundee (or any 1st div team) in a position to turn down 50k-100K for a player with 6 months left on his contract?

We already have at the start of the season,so why would we accept now?We sell any of our best players and our chances of going up decrease I know for a fact none of the players want to leave now and are just keeping their options open till the end of the season which they are entitled to do.
