Great night.Strangely the group is still delicately balanced. So much so that I think we need a point at least against Barca. If any over the other two teams win both of their next two games and we lose both ,then the momentum will be with them and Barca will take their feet of the gas in the last two games

they cant both win their next two games, they play each other! as long as barca beat everyone rangers need a point to secure uefa cup spot at least.
Good people will do good things, bad people will do bad things, but only with religion do good people do bad things!

Definatley, I used to think he was a cracking player but after last night i couldnt give a f**k what happens to him, i dont mind players going down for a foul if there is contact but to blatently dive like that players should be recieving a 2 match automatic ban.

He should be banned. Even if it is argued that a goal didn't result from that blatent piece of cheating, ie it gave Lyon no advantage. However, a free kick from there can be as dangerous as a penalty when Juninihio is around which was proved as he hit the bar.

If UEFA are consistent then Juniniho will be handed a ban.

Dunfermline boss Jim McIntyre must be at a loss to explain the succession of goalkeeping howlers he's witnessed from the frazzled Pars this season. I'm picturing a scene akin to Basil Fawlty whacking his car repeatedly with a branch after deciding "enough is enough!"

In recent weeks Scotland beat France at international levels, club levels and at obesitey levels.

Mon the Scots!

In all seriousness, what a result and how chuffed am I as a Scotland and Rangers fan.

Good luck Celtic tonight and Aberdeen Thursday...promised my Aberdeen supporting mate that if they get through to the groups and draw Ajax i'll go to Amsterdam with him

When the third goal went in I got funny looks as I cheered so much

Btw surely we get to keep France now????

Must be something to do with alcohol adveryising - the Heineken hoardings all advertised "planetchampions.net" instead of, er, Heineken.

Superb performance and result, btw. Took their chances at crucial times, when on many past nights, their fans would have been left saying "if only we had put that one away to go two up" etc.

The French are officially our bitches.

Yep, alcohol advertising is banned in France- the only alcohol that exists is French wine and beer no? Doesn't matter, in our country, even though the game is going back to France we're doing nothing illegal so we can advertise that.

Rangers were superb- see Lyons odds for outright winners of the tournament went from 20/1 yesterday afternoon to 66/1 today....

Didn't see that result coming, though I thought Rangers could get the draw.
You could get 80/1 on a 3-0 Rangers victory before the game.

The way I put the win last night in perspective is to think about how good a result it would have been for Rangers to beat Red Star Belgrade, or to a lesser extent FK Zeta by a few goals away from home in Europe. Even think back to last season when we played well and got a good point from Auxerre in the UEFA Cup.

I know that there is still a long way to go, and every game is, in true Pat Nevin style, a "big ask", but it's not impossible and can be done.

I have heard people say it was Rangers greatest ever win in Europe, but was it?.

Have people forgotten the tie in the 1990's when Rangers beat Leeds home and away,or when Rangers travelled to Alania Vladikavkas and beat the Russians 7-2 I think.

So was it the best ever win or is it the best since people can remember the last best one ever?.

I wonder if Juninhio will be charged for his dive last night like Mikolunias was? He should be.

Aye it was a total disgrace, feigning a foul like that, Hutton should have put the heid on him
I agree, it's all the old firms fault

Vladikavkaz were nowhere near as good as Lyon though

What he means (i would think) is that if Rangers lose both games to Barca, and for example Stuttgart win both their games against Lyon, then Barca would have qualified and will take their foot off the pedal, possibly enabling Stuttgart to get a result against them. Stuttgart also have the momentum at that point.

Is it not the first time Rangers have won away from home in the Champions League by a score other than 1-0?
