Not happy today but no surprise our first defeat came at St Johnstone, no surprise that our worst defeat for quite a while came at St Johnstone and no surprise that St Johnstone are starting to show the kind of form that suggests they will challenge for the title.
Dissapointed obviously and especially by the fact that we conceded so many but it's been an amazing season so far and hopefully we bounce back from this and keep ourselves in the race (after all we are still top of the league even if it's only by 1 point!).
I'd be interested to find out from Accies or St Johnstone fans if Halliwell was at fault for any of the goals? I know that sounds a bit off to pre judge the players at fault but Halliwell has been the one who in the matches I have seen this season worries me the most. I think our back up Tomas Cerny has looked a better keeper.

Agreed 100%
I'd play Cerny anyway!

This is a stunning result for St.Johnstone and can be a real turning point. In fact I wonder if you look back at the end of the season and highlight this as the essential result!
I love the irony of a Dunfermline poster claiming it's Hamilton's bubble had burst..

Hmmm. It could work both ways though, and give us a kick up the arse!
Most important thing from a Hamilton perspective is that we're still top of the league, really. Hopefully we can bounce back next week!

First question is asked of accies and they collapse.
Dundee to win the league.

Hamilton are a better side than Dundee, yet neither can beat St.Johnstone.
You wouldn't have known, on the basis of the game today, which side had come in unbeaten in their first seven matches and which side had come in with only one win in the same number of games. Accies started strong, had the pace and Offiong looked dangerous as ever up front but we gradually found our feet, cancelled out that early opener and romped home from that point on.
I wouldn't blame Halliwell for any of the goals, except maybe the third when he spilled to Deuchar, but he pulled off a sublime save to deny us in the first half. Think Boruc against Dundee and you've got the save. He was taking pelters from the home support though and even offered one fan a square go in the car park after the game.

I'm having none of this bubble burst malarky.
Whether or not its burst depends on how they respond to this result. To say that it's over for the Accies while they're stil top is ludicrous.

Bombscare played OK and can only be blamed for two of the goals.
Still a complete shite of a keeper though.

"Can only be blamed for two of the goals"
I missed one goal so maybe he could be at fault for that. Still, that's an improvement on his time with us when he was responsible for EVERY goal we conceded.

Still not good enough. Those goals have been coming as he's been putting my heart in my mouth for the past 4 games pretty much. Cerny was dropped for no reason - the only goal he conceeded was a penalty he was unlucky not to save! - He's due a chance.

Yeh, I was meaning it more from the St.Johnstone perspective. How many points would you be ahead of them if you had beaten them today? That sort of margin is bloody difficult to close down in this league. Yes, I take the point that they made an impressive dent in Gretna's lead at the end of the league last season, but this season they are a weaker squad (no Scotland, no James - albeit they could actually increase the overall quality of their side by sending Stewart back to Falkirk) and the number of teams you expect to be in the mix at the end will make it even tougher to string results together.
Accies on the other hand have impressed me from what I've read. You've been sitting mid/top table for the last couple of seasons without realistically challenging and we all know that apart from Gretna nearly all teams have had to suffer the purgatory of the 1st for some time before being born in the brave new world of the SPL. Hamilton may very well feel that they've served their time, and after watching similar teams make the grade, think it's their year.
It's even more impressive in my opinion because I think your pitch is a disadvantage in terms of the league. I've posted many a time I don't like it, but you need to swap the surface you play on every week, while opposition teams only need to deal with it 1 in 9.

Andy Jackson. Ever heard of him? Since he's been paired with Deuchar he's scored five goals in five games. Deuchar has contributed five in six.

How long is Deuchar on loan. Irons has been bumping his gums that he has a future at Gretna.
Jackson I think I saw in one of your cup games. Was he with you last year? If not, I'm obviously thinking of someone else.

The next few Accies games will be very important and show whether they can bounce back. Good Luck to them.

If Deuchar continues to play well for Saints, and Gretna continue to be shown up as the biggest laughing stock of Scottish Football, I'll grow more and more confident about keeping him.
Davie Irons actually makes me sick.

Hamilton will probably start to collapse, they needed to keep there winning run going a lot longer to give themselves a good enough head start, they will still be up there but i highly doubt they have the right mentality required to win the league. who knows maybe its just a blip and they will resume winning every week but tbh i cant see it
Dundee are my favourites to win it, the have the physical nature to grind out results when they dont deserve it and appear to have a real winning mentality, teams will beat each other in this league but i think Dundee will beat more teams and lose to less over the course of the season than anyone else
St Johnstone will probably put some results together and claim their rightful place among the also- rans for the title.
