when are sons fans going to wake up to the fact that we will never under this present regime regain any sort of respectabilty in football
this is a board who were more interested in a balance sheet than any sort of success on the park
before wilf starts on about good business practice
not spending beyond our means etc and he is right to a certain extent
too many clubs put themselves in a financial mess by living beyond their means I agree
but
our board must have been a bit disconcerted when for the first time I can remember we the trust had the audacity to invite the chief exec of the SFA to our raise the rock day along with the leader of the local council
without asking their permission first
sons are the only remaining pro team left in the council area since the "unlawful" demise of the bankies
but no one on the board has ever to my knowledge invited such dignitaries to any game
to say noses were out of joint would be putting it mildly
the board have always said that cash flow is a problem during the close season
so the trust members gave their time and effort doing a mail shot to all season ticket holders as soon as the season finished and brought in a substantial amount of money before the players started pre season training
no excuses there then
we still have not spent any of the wind fall from the celtic cup tie
again the trust were invited to help with the commercial side at the club
which they did to great effect
I would ask fans to check the player sponsorship from this season as compared to last
match and ball sponsorship is up on last year
why did we not sign players until the last minute
how can teams with less of a loyal fan base steal players from under our noses and we are left with 37 year olds--- wannabees ----
and neverbeens
the sooner we rid ourselves of the rag tag of misfits currently in power at our club we will go nowhere
before I finish I might add not all directors are tarred with this brush but the good ones are out numbered and powerless
the fans have done their bit and I would plead with those in charge
PLEASE DO NOT PASS GO DO NOT COLLECT £200
JUST LEAVE THE RUNNING OF OUR CLUB TO THOSE WHO YEAR AFTER YEAR HAVE PUT UP WITH ALL SORTS OF DROSS BOTH ON AND OFF THE PARK AND HAVE DONE OUR BIT AGAIN THIS SEASON
AND HEARTS THINK THEY HAVE PROBLEMS
rant over for now

the squad is unbelievably shite, along with our board. after the dirty looks they were giving us on saturday i reckon 'sack the board' will be a regular chant.

Sounds like a familiar rant that can be heard at many clubs. Not to say that it is wrong however. Too many directors are there for their own kudos/benefit instead of putting the club along with the supporters first. This is why it is important to get fan involvement like a seat on the board through the trust/supporters club. Until you get some say in the running of clubs and kick up a stink things will not change. So get the pressure on for change. It can be done but needs a lot of work and commitment.

sonstrust have done that but its a long hard struggle
to change the attitudes of self centred egotists who run our football
if our trust withdrew its support we would not have a web site---
supporters bar--we would be back to cheap home made programmes---
and the club would lose a lot financially
our biggest danger is the fact that we are sitting on a piece of sought after land surrounded by housing
and nowhere on the council plans for the river side development is there any mention of a football stadium
I have been lambasted by both short sighted fans and board members as being a scaremonger
but the similarities between us and the bankies and hamilton are scary

Where have you got to get a rep on the board. To my mind this won't happen until you push strongly for it.

It was recently announced on here that EFST has been granted a rep at associated director level. This is just a play on words and this rose by another name smells like shit. You need to ensure you have that foot in the door at DIRECTOR level with the power to influence and vote on the issues that matter. It may be a long hard road but will be worth it. Remember those in power will fight tooth and nail to deny this opportunity. You will need to do the same to achieve your objectives.

Dumbarton FC has an elected Trust director to the Board of the Club.
The answer is yes, so, what is the question?
