even though the rangers got off to a better start, a think celtic have a far better record at home and have easier teams to play than their counterparts

Is this just Champions League or in Europe altogether?

Rangers

In Europe more emphasis is on not conceding and Rangers have a far better defence imo

I can't help but notice Aberdeen are not an option to vote for, in the catagory of who will go the furthest in Europe. As far as I am aware Aberdeen are still in Europe and have a fighting chance of making the group stages.

Hopefully both will get pumped out in 4th place. I'd say that's the most likely scenario, though Celtic might still nick a UEFA cup slot.

I actually reckon Rangers will make the UEFA cup, so this could be unfair if they, say, make it to the UEFA Cup quarter-finals and we go out in the last 16, they would technically have gone further than us.

Of course, this is all on the assumption that we'll actually score a goal in the Champions League this season :(

No, finishing 2nd in the CL groups and going out in the last 16 supersedes even winning the UEFA Cup, which you will only be in by being too pish to qualify out of your group.

Well, while I could put up a case for winning the UEFA Cup as being more important than even the Champions League Quarter-Finals, I'm too tired, so I'll just say that I just meant further as in lasted longer in Europe.

Aberdeen! (But only because you didn't put them on the list, the Old Firm ain't the only teams in Scotland despite what the media, Old Firm supporters and people from abroad think).

But seriously, I still feel Celtic will do well and recover and maybe just maybe into the last 16, which is worth more than any UEFA Cup win in terms of money.

I think Celtic will finish with 7 points, which should be good enough for a UEFA Cup place. I think Rangers will take something from the home game with Lyon, but other than that I think they'll struggle to pick up any more points.

Will Rangers pick up anything from the next 3 games in the CL?

Whilst getting null points wouldn't spell the end of their chances it'd fairly mess up their confidence. Fancy Celtic to take 7 points at home and sod all away from home. Everything hinges on Rangers v Lyon at home and then v Stuttgart away. Hopefully they can get enough to get to the Uefa Cup along with Celtic.

A few rounds in there would see another good boost for the co-ef.

I also think Aberdeen should get into the group stages of the Uefa Cup (based purely on Dnipro cynical tactics last week  )

Celtic.

I can see them picking things up a notch. Rangers picked up a win against an average side. It was a good win, yes, but what can they expect from the rest of their games ?

The important factor may be when do Rangers/Celtic play Barcelona/Milan at home?

We have Milan at Celtic Park in the next game, while we play them at the San Siro in the last game of the section.

Rangers have Barcelona back to back in the 3rd and 4th games of the section. Not sure which is home and away though

Rangers will be home first, as Celtic and Rangers are always 1 at home, 1 away. Not good news for Rangers at all, as Barca will always be up for the games not having yet qualified. Celtic may be able to sneak a draw if Milan are through and resting players. In that case, i think Celtic will go further.

i think Celtic have better individuals in their first eleven but they are not performing this season and Rangers are on top form and also have formidable depth in their squad

therefore i would think Rangers (if anyone) will go further in Europe and i also think they will win the league
