...in the first five minutes. We were utter pish. Ayr looked ok but we made far too many mistakes and they took this well like their chances. Our midfield was again virtually anonymous. Again we adopted a long ball tactic and Fahey made 2 big mistakes. First half was diabolical. Everyone says that the Cowden game was as bad as against the sons last year...this one was worse. So, at half time Ayr are 2-0 up due to our dire defence and Rovers had an offside goal chalked off which was fair enough. Credit to McGlynn for this bit, he must have given them a bollocking and we came out flying... until Ayr run up the pitch completely against the run of play and get a goal. Fair play, we need to improve against counter attacks. So eventually, to the delight of many rovers fans Derek Carcary comes on...surely Hislop will go off. No, we took off probably the more creative of the two from Graham Weir. So, with the fans streaming out we finally start to take a chance. A decent finish by Hissy for once, and then a penalty. We were pish and will be lucky to make the playoffs if this keeps up. We need a forward who can take chances, our midfield to stop punting long balls up and our defense to learn to defend against counter attacks. Oh aye, we're also needing Todd Lumsden to hopefully recreate a partnership with Marv. Both teams could have scored more...Ayr deserved to win this one.

He was offside by a bit.
Agree about the taking chances bit. Would have been nice to have kept the clean sheet but a win is a win. Its amazing how much better we do with 442.
Moore wasn't very effective today, as would be expected against big defenders, and Williams ran his socks off again. Stevenson keeps up his impressive scoring run and Henderson is beginning to look a lot more solid. Thought we were going to be caused all sorts of trouble with BJ not coming off his line for anything but we managed to defend most of the balls into the box pretty well and to be fair the goalie did his job when asked.
Hopefully Moore will get back to his scoring ways soon and we can continue our assault on the play off spots (Not confident enough to say championship)

Sorry about that. My bad. Meant to say it was fair enough we had it chalked off.
