Forfar started well and scored through a distinctly offside looking goal from Sean Grady. Things settled down until Fotheringham played a suicidal square ball straight to Baird who equalised with ease. Jay Stein scored a wonderful second and the game was pretty much over, Montrose didn't need the other two goals but scored them anyway and look a good, attacking outfit that should challenge at the top of the league I would say. Forfar are awful and right now are where their play deserves to be - rock bottom. Last season was bad this one looks even worse. :(

Its a good time to be a Montrose fan, we won comfortably today without playing that great. Was good to see Woody grab his first league goal for us and what can be said about Jay's....another screamer!

Two home games in a row now...Dumbarton and the Shire, maximum points after those two game and we'll have had a good first quarter of the season!

Supporter bus was full and there was alot of cars loads made the journey thru

As for the game a minor set back with forfar scoring early on but once baird scored and jay's spectacular 30 yard volley we were on easy street. Good to see 4 different scorers for the mo shows we have goals right thru the team. Defence look solid enough with the young keeper in goals. The lads had chances to extend the score but cant really grumble as in was a stroll after the hour make after gibby scored a cracker shame he got book for celebrating

We really are in a sorry state, no passion or desire, no leadership on and off the park, crowds at an all time low, i thought some of the players last year were bad but this years really takes the biscuit, with only a few exceptions.
Where do we go from here? Answers on a postcard please! :(

As has been said - i would say that Montrose had their biggest travelling support in three or four years. (I actually think that the Scottish Cup match against Forfar was the last time we had that that amount travelling).
Felt sorry for the old guy who walked past us with about ten minutes to go on his way out - "any of you want a free Forfar season ticket?" - reminded me of me the last few seasons (apart from the obvious age difference)

There is no way Forfar will fall into the oblivion that Montrose has endured for the last ten years - i would bet that by the New Year a new manager will be in place and things will turn around.

Hey we didn't play that great but we still managed to score 4 goals away from home and there should really of been more. Stein's goal was a stunner and again he is proving how valuable he is going to be this season. Gibby's goal just was an out pouring of emotion and was shite that he got booked but thats the rules.

Montrose will win the league.

East Fife are smegma.

Forfar will run them close right enough.

Was through at the game yesterday and Montrose certainly showed why they will be up there this season. Forfar never looked in it once Montrose equalised. Highlight on the game was Jay Stein's 25 yard volley that whistled into the back of the net, i can't remember ever seeing a better goal.

Montrose looked as good as i've ever seen them it will defo be a very hard game next week for us.

The Official Forfar site has the gaol highlights on 'Loons TV' here

Jay Stein's goal looks better every time I watch it, and Gibby's celebration was well worth getting booked for!

Montrose's second goal was an absolute peach :) Typical tosser ref chasing after the guy and trying to cut short the celebrations, where do they get these people?? Although maybe he just wanted to add his own congratulations

Yes, the ref did over react a tad. He booked Gibson for celebrating with the fans at the 4th goal.
Not wanting to take anything away from Forfar but was there anyone playing their goalscorer onside? - can't see on the video and i was at the opposite end of the park and didn't notice at the time.
