Makes you kinda wish Dungvermine had made it through the tie, just to see them being torn apart in such a humiliating manner

Pavlyuchenko hit a hat trick in a 13 minute spell. Decent bet for Uefa cup imo.

5-0 full-time. Spartak matched Celtic over two games recently, and 5-0 is the same kind of result that Celtic have been getting against SPL teams. I didn't see how the game went but it maybe shows Hacken are at a reasonable level (comparable to top div1/bottom spl) and us losing to them wasn't an embarrasment.
I also had nice wee bet on Spartak (-2 goals) so I'm happy. B)

Spartak deserve to be in the CL more then US, Strachan has not clue to fielding a strong European lineup, we got lucky on penalties, not the sign of a good club.

Sounds like you are indulging in a desperate piece of justification. Whichever way you look at it Dungfermline were humiliated and and did heap embarrassment on the Scottish game (as Gr£tna did previously).
It is probably a sensible decision by the SFA (for once) to change the qualification rules to the UEFA Cup so that crappy teams who have had a lucky run to the Scottish Cup final aren't rewarded the next season with 2 games against a Scandanavian/Eastern European team in order to demonstrate how rubbish they are.
P.S. kpar if you must make this second-hand comparison the least you could do is be accurate. You should be comparing Hacken with the BOTTOM OF SCOTTISH DIV 1. That's where your team are sitting in the league right now and where they have been since the start of the season.

Erm, no we aren't and no we haven't.
For we're the Pars, Dunfermline Athletic,
And now we are on song,

The reference by kpar was in general terms (bottom spl/top div1) and my reply was intended to be equally general as well. Although, on review, it could be taken too literally by an over-sensitive, touchy Dungfermline supporter who is a bit sore by only winning one league game out of 6 so far this season and upset by his team languishing in the lower half of division 1 all season so far.
So, for clarity, noted below is Dungfermline's league position so far this season:
04/08/07 9th
11/08/07 8th
18/08/07 8th
19/08/07 7th
25/08/07 6th
01/09/07 7th
02/09/07 6th
15/09/07 7th
League positions to date range between 9th and 6th, you are currently 7th, your average position (statistically) is 7.375(th) and you haven't actually been in the top half of division 1 at all this season.
I think the statistics fairly strongly suggest that kpar's comapirson of Hacken against a top div1 side was a wee bit off the mark. I'll leave you boys to argue between yourselves now as to whether you are sh*t or p*sh. There's not a great deal of difference and I really don't care too much.

Further evidence that Gordon Smith was 100% correct to change the rules for Scottish Cup qualification
We will never get an extra Euro place through our co-efficient if we stay as we are

Thought it was worth updating the stats after todays results.
Dungfy are now 9th.

And Cowden are how far down the Second Division? Yes, you're that insignifcant I haven't a clue where you are in the league or how you got on today.

Based on current form and league position I think it might be prudent for both you and Lelli Kelly Kenny to pay a bit more attention to the 2nd Division.
The basis of my posts was highlighting Dungfy supporters tenuously faint grasp on reality:
- kpar's reference to Dungfermline being a top div1/bottom spl side. You are neither!
- Your own priceless reference to being "almost" out of the title race when sitting in 9th with only 1 win in 7 games.
I'll leave you all now to go back to dreaming about the Big Time. Okay Charlie!
