No way should we be bailing out these people - they wouldn't be giving us the money back if the shares had doubled woult they?

Yet again, we see the double standards, where people on the right wing (Against state intervention) are suddenly very pro state intervention when they lose money. It's like a version of socialism for the rich.

More to the point though, I'm gutted at my taxes paying to sponsor Newcastly United. It's bad enough paying for illegal wars, Trident etc, but I draw the line at paying for Joey Barton and Alan Smith

I think the term compensation is kinda false though. Essentially the gov't are buying the company, and therefore everyone's shares, which still hold some value (more than say a losing football coupon, for example).

NRK still have assets worth billions, and every stakeholder has a share in this.

The capitalist fuckwit shareholders can piss off. They took the risk of buying shares, and they would have happily taken the profits if the company did well. The company didn't do well, so what right do they have to claim compensation? p***ks.

Well that does appear to be the situation. Sadly for them they cannot have their cake and eat it.
Look at you. You're a slippery genius!

Shareholders are going to get pennies though...literally! I imagine maybe 10p per share. Not great compensation.

To put that in context, Fast Action's shareholding would be worth about £2.5k, down from £75k

Should he sell now, then? They're going for 90p, it seems.

edit: oh yeah, opinion - a ridiculous abuse of the "free" market.
