Oh, and before you go and watch us every week, please don't comment on a team that you have no clue about.
Listen Dom, I don't profess to be an expert on yout team, why would I? If you want to listen only to Morton fans, go to your own forum. However you are on an open forum in a thread relating to Livi v Morton so I am perfectly entitled to air my views. My view is that Morton fans are getting on the back of your team way to early in the season. Jeez, if I was doing the same with Livi I'd have cut my wrists before Saturdays game.
Drunk on success after last season and quite frankly just suffering a wee hangover this season. Get behind your team.

Aye maybe you're happy with mediocrity but Morton fans generally aren't.
Drunk on success, what a prat.

Well said. I think a few people forgot that when we won promotion last season, that the standard of football wasn't going to be as easy as the 2nd Division. With the success of last season and coasting some games, fans have been getting to used to it and don't like it when we come up against better opposition and get beat. It's all part of being promoted, it's not gonna be a walk in the park this season for Morton and we've all gotta get behind the team.

Weren't there some people last season keen to suggest there was little difference between the top of the Second division and the First, based on a couple of cup results?

I agree with you to an extent. Those who thought we would be in the top half, on the basis of excellent cup results against Killie and St. Johnstone, need a reality check.
However, while we're obviously going to be struggling, and losing more often than we win, there are limits. Losing 4 - 0 to Livingston was totally unacceptable. The tactics against Stirling, where we never even attempted to attack, were unacceptable. The lack of activity in the transfer window was just a disgrace, and suggests that McInally and Rae are amongst the few who thought we must be good enough because of the Kilmarnock and St. Johnstone games.
Greacen and Harding are a good example. They were absolutely fantastic in those cup games, but for the majority of the season, they were poor and caused us big problems. I know that on paper it looks like our defence was solid, but they really were a disaster waiting to happen. The disaster happened on Saturday. In the summer, we never even looked for a centre back, despite the exploits of those two, and I can see that causing us major problems this season.
So yes, some fans' expectations are too high, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be expecting better from Morton when they balls it up like McInally and Rae in the transfer window, like McInally against Stirling, like every single one of them on Saturday.

You are of course correct although they seem to be sitting quietly in the corner at the moment

Lets be brutally honest - In june we had a far better starting point IMO than Livingston.
Not only did we have money to build the team, we also had kept a squad together for a cople of years and realy ought to be playing to their strentghs by now.
During the summer, any advantage has been frittered away by a naive chairman and his lackey.
Combine this with moronic tactical decisions and quite frankly, we'll be lucky to stay up at this rate.
This summer was a fantastic opportunity to push on and possibly get into the top half, but now we are staring a relegation battle that i doubt we have the heart and strength to win.
If a 4-0 defeat to the team bottom of the league and winless previously isn't cause for major concern and serious questions to be asked about the future, then i don't know what is.

What do Clyde, Stirling, Livingston and Dunfermline have in common?
Correct! They're below us in the league!
If we are staring a relegation battle then so are these 4 teams. Half the league contesting a relegation battle! Jesus, this is gonna be some league.
Some of our fans are beginning to raise some valid questions which is fair enough; some are just idiots and have been all along, and are being entirely unrealistic.
Aim for this season: Survival.
What we will achieve this season: Survival.
Really don't know what some of you gain from sticking the boot into our own team...you saw at Livi that it is obviously having a negative effect on the players.

Dunfermline won't be down there - Stirling, Clyde and Livingston may well be.
As will we at this rate, and, whether you like it or not, I have my doubts whether we'll survive it.
The whole setup at the moment does not seemed geared towards survival.

It will be some league this year, even tighter than last year when about 5 teams were possible relegation contenders with only 4 weeks to go.
