Dunfermline V Bk Hacken

Only a few days until these 2 giants of European football clash at East End Park. Who will prevail out of these 2 lower division sides? Will Dunfermline put to bed their losing streak and bury the Swedes? Will Darren Young make a forward pass? Will Nicky Phinn finally get a game? Will Mark Burchill kick the ball for once or is there more chance of Stephen Simmons breaking sweat? Will Kevin Harper finally beat a man or is it more likely Jim Hamilton will win a header?

Some things may happen, others won't (lets be honest, Young won't pass forward) but there's one thing for sure. European football is back at East End Park for the first time since 1970. Rough patch just now or not, every Pars fan should be drooling at the prospect of seeing European games at East End Park.

I predict a boring night infront of the TV for Falkirk fans, and a great night in store for fans of Gods own team.

I think there's more chance of Falkirk qualifying for Europe than any of those things to happen. :( I really fear for us going into this game. We have been absolutely shite so far and I can't see it improving any time soon, unless the players get the finger out and put some fucking effort in.

Cheers neeb- we need it.

We have to improve dramatically from Saturday, as Hacken will be no mugs. They'll probably play in a similar fashion to Morton; ie pack the midfield and hit on the break. We have to be sharper and more creative, and I'd start Phinn in midfield, with possibly McGuire too to add some steel in there. I'd drop Young and Simmons wouldn't get near the squad.

Get McManus up front beside Crawford in a solid 4-4-2. Do we play Glass on the left and Morrison on the right, or do we give Harper another chance? Or do we deploy Harper and Morrison, with maybe Glass moving back to left back?
For we're the Pars, Dunfermline Athletic,

Does BK stand for Burger King?

A townie European special coming up me thinks, out by a team in the first round by sum humpties no-one has ever heard of!

I'd say - "see you next year" , but at this rate we probably won't.

Nah. We had to play at McDiarmid Park because of the plastic pitch.

Yeah it was pretty shit. Now let us never speak of that dreadful night again!

We would have used EEP if Hafnarfjordur agreed to playing on the pitch but unsurprisingly they didn't. I've no idea why Spartak are allowed to use it against Celtic unless the rules have changed, because I can't see Celtic agreeing to play on it if they had a choice.

Hopefully the Pars will get a result, don't know much about the Swedes but I reckon you're in with a chance. Good Luck.

The Icelandics were asked if they wanted to play on it, they refused and so it was moved. Seemingly they had that right (ironic as our pitch at the time was UEFA approved). I assume the rules have now changed, hence Celtic playing on plastic in Russia.

Maybe when it was installed nobody thought anything as ludicrous as Dunfermline qualifying for Europe would ever happen so it just wasnt taken into consideration... :D

I wouldn't know why they'd have thought of that. We'd finished 5th the season before it was laid, having been unlucky not to get into Europe and were looking like candidates for European football via the league again.

Anyway, back to the Pars - Hacken game. Despite the weekends result I can't wait for Thursday. Should be great to see a UEFA Cup game at EEP.

Scott Wilson, Stephen Glass and Tam McManus are doubtful.

f**k, f**k, f**k. 3 important players for us. Hopefully with Glass out though, Nicky Phinn will get a start. Can't see it happening. More likely to see Simmons come back in. <_<

I think it's about £15. Not too sure because us season ticket holders get it free. B)

Kick off will probably be 7.45.

7.45 kick off squire.

Is all ticket , and they are £15 for the North and Norrie McCathie Stands, though if you show yer ID ye'll get in for £12 as a student. Adult Main Stand price is £18, concession is the same.

Ticket office open until 6pm on Thursday.

Edit- Apparantly, the North West and Norrie Stands are pretty much sold out.

I'm not entire sure which stand is which (barring the Norrie McCathie stand).

If toy were sitting in it, which one is the stand where there are still tickets available?

The North Stand is opposite the Main Stand (to the left of the Norrie) and the East section of that should still have tickets, as would the Main Stand I would think.

You could ask if there are tickets left in the Norrie, but it may already be sold out. And if you were to head over on Thursday and bag a ticket by 6pm, you could head along to the Commercial for a pre-match pint B)
