A bit frustrating to only come away with a point when you are 2 up for most of the game and it appeared we were in control but the defence just went into panic mode towards the end and Bavidge netted two late goals.
With Nelson suspended, Chris McLuskey stepped in and while there were a few shakey moments, he made a few good saves and once again impressed me.
City were on top first half and went ahead when Martin Johnston's perfect cross found an un-marked Iain Russell at the back post, who miraculously stayed onside to head the ball into the net.
Peterhead started to get into the game a bit more and we were lucky not to concede an equaliser when a couple of shots were blocked off the line.
We went two ahead when a shot was parried into the air by Jim Will and the ball fell nicely for captain Darren Smith to head into an empty net.
In the second half City pushed forward to seal the game but lacked the killer touch. Bavidge, who looked dangerous upfront all game, managed to pull back a goal after 76 minutes with a crisp shot into the bottom corner.
Then disaster struck for City when in stoppage time, Bavidge rammed the ball high into the net to give Peterhead what was probably a deserved equaliser.
A bit gutted not to record our first win of the season today, especially when we were ahead for so long. We now face a tough game next week at home to Ayr, who will be looking to get back on track after a poor start. It's a game we need to be taking 3 points from, especially after the slow start.

Decent first half performance, poor second. Don't understand Byers coming on, either. If you're going to try and run down the clock as we were, why not take Russell or Johnston off and bring on Hughes to shore up the defence a bit? Peterhead were always looking like breaking us down and an extra man at the back could have helped.
Much improvement needed next week.

How are MJ and Adam getting on?
Are you lot likely to field your strongest team on Tuesday?

Both are doing very well. I think MJ has looked good upfront and he scored a couple of pearlers pre-season. He's received a lot of stick from the fans though because there is a lot expected of him, almost too much. In saying that, most Brechin fans are moany c**ts.
As for our team I have no idea. With us being knocked out of the CIS Cup then I'd expect us to take this tie seriously. If it's not our first team it'll still be pretty strong, with everyone available barring Gary Fusco who has a knee injury.
Also, what's the deal with a 8pm kick off on Tuesday?

MJ is a slow starter. Both seasons with us, even though he scored 20+ goals in each season, it was 6-7 games untill he got his first goals of both seasons. He'll start banging them in, you just need to be patient.

Brechin looked good for the first half hour then disappeared.
Got to be disappointed with the goals we lost, as Jamie Buchan just seemed to stop defending to allow big Marty J to set up the first, and the second was the result of Jim Will parrying the ball straight onto the heid of Darren Smith.
After that we had a lot of possession but for a long time didn't look like getting a goal - Stevie Istead forced McCluskey into a great save just before the break but went off with a hamstring injury, and he had earlier seen a shot cleared off the line (should have thumped it first time though..)
Kozi coming on was the key to earning a point, I think, and I'm looking forward to both him and Michal Kula starting on Tuesday.
