That is correct, although it is a bit more than changing rooms, the proposal is over two floors, ground floor is 4 changing rooms, referees rooms, large reception area with glass frontage and high level 'gallery' plus storage areas, weights room, kitchen, external toilets for match days, laundry and shower room for the caravan park. The second floor has a couple of offices plus a large meeting room (general use through the week / matchday hospitality), and a viewing gallery looking onto the pitch.
This project won't get our full focus until we have completed the floodlight project.
In the past week we have gained confirmation that our specifications for the lights meet Planning's approval - the lights are the final part of a 5-phased planning appplication submitted @9 years ago, a condition at the time was we needed to provide a full spec prior to commencing the installation.
The various funding packages are now being put in place - the £10,000 from the SFA at XMas is in the development fund pot. It is now very realistic that the lights will be installed prior to the second round of the Scottish Cup (25 Oct), this would enable a 3 o'clock kick-off.
Incidentally 1st Round is 27 Sep, 3rd Round - 29 Nov, 4th Round - 10 Jan

Well done Annan its a pity other South member clubs didn't try and use the cash as well as you are. A credit to area lets hope you get your rewards for all the hard work, you'd be a credit to S.F.L.

I totally agree bftt it only seems to be Annan who are doing anything for the future of their club or their community all the other clubs just throw their money at players who will be off as soon as the money runs dry

I've also been attempting to get Ebbsfleet United into Annan's pre-season tournament, though that's looking unlikely.

sorry oldboy forgot to mention Threave i didn't realise they had extended the dressing rooms and i never emplyed Threave wasted the money you just have to look at their ground to see its one of the better and the pitch is one of the best too altho there has been a few games off lately, i think the other member clubs should try improving their pitch some are like playing in a farmers field more bumps and ruts than a ploughed field

That third round date threw fixturing anoraks across the nation
What are the further dates (I didn't write them down...) - I'd guess:
* 7 Feb
* 7 Mar
* 18/19 Apr (Semi-Finals)
* 30 May (Final)
Am I right?

Not a stupid idea to contact Annan - we are always open to discussion / way forward. SFL3 application imminent
Invite to tourney maybe not as unlikely as you suspect, how many fans would you expect to bring to the tournament.

I've been chatting with the club secretary for a week or two now and highlighted the fact Ebbsfleet United, via the myfootballclub society, have fans from Scotland, Ireland and the North of England who all feel slightly detached from the whole process. We had a get together at Wembley, mostly visited by MYFC members as opposed to original Ebbsfleet fans and that saw close to 500 people attend. Wouldn't be silly enough to say we'd bring 500, but I could easily see a few hundred making the trip to watch one or two of the days. Certainly, we had something like 163 fans attend the recent York away match and most of them were from Scotland and the North of England.

Any idea of who else is playing at the tournament? Booked up for a night in Annan now for it. Should be good whoever else goes.

They surely can't hold off too long waiting for Gretna, even a new AFC Gretna would take all close season to actually put together.

A new AFC Gretna will not be invited, it will be Gretna Football Club (if it remains in the SFL) or Ebbsfleet

Again, going by what I've at least read in the press, that could be up in the air for quite a while. The administrator has mentioned the 3 year business plan, plus there are doubts of exactly what this new investor wants to actually do with the club. I suppose we can add Ebbsfleet United to the endless list of clubs just wanting answers. I feel most sorry for the clubs who aren't entirely sure about the level they are trying to attract players to.

I wasnt really aware of the date, its usually earlier. Burnley is a better run out IMO. After we destroyed Ayr last year it was a good run out. But if we get the likes of Annan its not really a good workout IMO. Its always a good laugh.

That's quite an implication. How do you know how other clubs who were given the money from the SFA plan to use the money received?
From what I've heard some actually plan to use the money to upgrade existing facilities rather than use the money to bolster the squad which is the right move. in my opinion. To be honest, I don't think £10k will go that far but clubs should be able to apply for grants on the basis of this money to assist with any ground improvements.

It is indeed. Really looking forward to this one, expecting something of a Fleet invasion of the camping park next to the ground.
