Anyone got an idea of what Dundees and Dundee Uniteds highest average attendance for any one season is.

I reckon Dundees will be about 25 000 or more, as for Uniteds they never had big crowds in the 50s or 60s so theirs must be the 70s somewhere or the league winnin g season. Probably about 10 000 or so.

According to Wikipedia, Dundee's highest average attendance is 24,532 which was in the 1948-49 season and was based over 15 games.

Dundee United's was 12,830 which was as recent as the 1988/89 season.

The book "The Roar of the Crowd" by Davis Ross confirms the Wikipedia figures.
The best thing about being dead is you no longer have to say "I wish I were dead".

The best thing about being alive is you can still say "I wish I were dead".

United got their biggest (individual) crowds in the 50s and 60s including a number of derbys at around 25k and Barca at 28k. I'm actually surprised their record average was as late as 88-9 and indeed so low, not a dig BTW, just thought it'd be higher.
"Dundee was the best, it was my second home," Nemsadze said. "I loved it very much. Georgians and Scots both have the same kind of character. They are all very warm people. Scotland will always be my second home. I was there for three-and-a-half years. For me, my best moment was the chip I scored* in the derby against Dundee United."

"Lee is now at Dundee United?" an incredulous Nemsadze asked. "Ah ... he is a bad boy. He has crossed the street."
