It's official...Raith Rovers are doing their best to avoid Stirling until the play-off final. Don't believe me ?..then you'd be foolhardy to doubt the word of Pastor Andrews. In his post match sermon he professed:

"...we're playing well and we have to do that to consolidate the fourth spot"

followed by:

"...we'll just have to look forward to next week and a hard game against Brechin. They are challenging us for fourth spot so it should be exciting"

Seems like the real battle between Rovers and City is to finish fourth...can't blame them really I suppose

We let you win on purpose to lull you into a false sense of security when we play you in the play-offs

That was the instructions Fairbairn was given when he was sent on

But seriously we cant play that badly again and even with us playing badly you only beat us with a late goal that was a present ;)

Glad you realise this, it will make it less painful for you when lose out to us in the play-offs ;)

Yes I know I run the risk of this coming back to haunt me

The Pie and Bovril classic excuse. John McGlynn seemed quite happy with how Raith had played overall.

First half we were lucky to go in 0-0 as usual with a home crowd over 2000 we were nervy.

Seems unlikely that that's as bad as you can play, though.

How?

I think it's a good sign that we can play as bad as we did and only lose to a mistake to one of the teams we could be playing in the play-offs.

It's either than or let the result get to me which I'm not going to do.

So you honestly thought Raith played as bad as they possibly could on Saturday?

Now yes, a few months ago we could play much worse but I cant see us playing that bad again under McGlynn.

It was like Dalziel was back in charge, passes going astray, no communication between players etc etc

In my view it was simply an off day and 1 off day out of 8 isnt bad even for the best teams in the world so it will do for me.

I would rather have an off day now than in the play-offs.

Maybe it wasn;t so much an off day as you came up against a better side than those you have been beating recently.

Partly but we also didnt look like the same team we have been, mistakes that we hadnt been making over the past few months crept into our play again.

We proved in parts in the second half we can more than match you we just didnt do it enough over the 90 minutes.

I'm just trying to take positives out of the game ;)

It was only one and we never scored before most people had sat down this time.

There is that :P

But seriously I'm not surprised we lost the game last time with all the uncertainty about Levein leaving.

I've seen nothing from Stirling in the games I've seen to make me overly worried about meeting you in the play-offs and I'm sure you feel the same about Raith.

If we do hopefully they will be cracking games with the best team winning (I am being sincere for a change)

Just think how bad your players will be in a play-off where its entirely feasible there could be 50% more folk than that there! Would explain why you can't beat Morton too ;)

Simply we just make the home leg all-ticket and only sell 1999 tickets for it

Agree that a playoff between raith and stirling would be cracking , would lead to a great atmosphere and crowd and would no doubt be an exciting game , But we will still beat u lot in thm :P
