Has anyone played at the Cinicinnati Club in Glasgow?

I've been looking at their schedule and the buy-ins seem very reasonable.

The Current Schedule:

Mondays: (8.15pm) £10 NLH 3xR/B, 2,500 chips

Tuesdays: (8.15pm) £15 NLH F/O, 5,000 chips

Wednesdays: (8.15pm) £20 NLH D-C F/O, 8,000 chips total

Thursdays: (8.15pm) 20 NLH 2xR/B, 4,000 chips

Fridays: (8.15pm) £75+5 NLH F/O, 10,000 chips

Saturdays: (8.15pm) £10 NLH 1xR/B, 4,000 chips

Sundays: (8.15pm) £30 NLH F/O, 7,500 chips

Last Friday of every month: £200 NLH F/O, 15,000 chips

All bar the Friday night would be possible for my meagre bankroll.

How long do the games generally last? Thinking in terms of the last train home here...

The blind structures in casino game normally ensure that the game will run for about six hours or so. I don't think you would make the last train home if you were doing well.
You will retire me, but Iniesta will retire us both.

Cheap buy ins, a fiver or a tenner dependant on night. Good prizes, usually in the region of 600 or 700 each night. Also the only club in Scotland that holds an Omaha night.

This isn't central Scotland, but.........

I was playing in the Western Club in Park Royal (West London) last night, and two things happened which stood out;

1) a hand was being played, and after the turn, a player started sifting through the muck to retrieve his cards to show everyone he had folded a full house.

2) I mucked a hand face-down, and someone else at the table picked up my cards and looked at them.

I told the players concerned exactly what I thought of their behaviour on both occasions, especially the 2nd time, and I would like to think it's not just sour grapes that I didn't play very well.

I've played a few times at the Western and many times at other clubs, and have never encountered anything like this.

Am I right to be pissed off with this table behaviour? (I'm pretty sure I am but want some backup)

Yes once a hand is mucked a player can not retrieve their cards. No one can look at your cards if you have mucked. If one person sees your cards, you have to show everyone your cards. You should have taken up the issue with the Tournament organiser.
You will retire me, but Iniesta will retire us both.

Yeah, I agree and knew all of that before the event, I just couldn't believe that some people would have such a nerve to blatantly break some of the most basic rules in poker.
I didn't want to take it up with the organiser as it 1) it would've looked like a severe case of sour grapes and 2) the people involved were regulars whereas I'm not, I didn't want to get involved in a 'situation' when I walked out the door.
With a bit more bravery I might have, I think the lesson is to continue playing at Gutshot rather than the Western.

You should have taken it up with the tournament organiser, as if they allow that rubbish to go on it will greatly affect their reputation. If you see something that isn't correct etiquette you should always inform the dealer or go above them.

Let them think its sour grapes, anyone else that knows and respects the rules will never think its sour grapes.

Another real bug bare of mine is when idiots throw in a large chip and do not announce a raise. If you see anyone doing that, they only call and the dealer shall give them change. For instance they they throw in a 500 chip to call an 80 bet. If they do not announce raise, they only call.

When I play in any Student poker event, if you do not follow etiquette properly you can be fined chips or be discarded from the tournament.
You will retire me, but Iniesta will retire us both.

When i played my first live tournament I accidentally did this. I was very aware that i should verbally announce by intention before moving any chips but for some reason didn't on this occasion. I was in the small blind (50) and there were three callers when it came to me. I only had one 500 chip left and wanted to go all-in so just put my chip over the line without saying anything. The dealer asked if i was calling or raising and when i said raising they explained that because i hadn't announce raise then it is treated as a call and gave me change. A stupid mistake i know, but it worked out ok when the flop came down rags, i reckoned it didn't help anyone in the pot and went all-in and everyone folded. They must have put me on a large overpair (which i didn't have!)

If that club had decent dealers then he would have dealt with the two players. You are totally, 100% absolutely and completely right to complain about such behaviour. I would go so far as to quit playing there until they get some dealers and/or bosses who know a thing or two about poker etiquette.

I'd go so far as to call situation #2 outright cheating. To muck your cards is entirely your prerogative and can aid your play. For someone to ignore it is... well, at a club, I can't imagine the sort of person that would do that. In a friendly home game, maybe - actually, no, f**k it, not even then.

I'm actually pissed off just reading about this. That is awful, awful behaviour and if I was the dealer at that table I would have the guy kicked out immediatley.
