I know it isn’t easy Gav and you know I'm one of the vocal/frustrated fans around so I'm hardly innocent either but enough is enough we simply cant stay on this road as it will end up destroying this club that you and others put so much effort into saving.

We are all in this together and together we can get out of this if we pull our resources together. you, me, the fanbase as a whole, the players, directors and whoever our new manager is.

Time we stopped this blame culture and put our collective energies working together to get out of this mess and make sure we never end up in this situation again. It's in our hands and nobody else's we have at least a First Division club but we need to start to prove on the park that we deserve that.

We are the ones missing sitters, we are the ones fucking up at the back constantly, not refs not other teams cheating at the end of the day basic errors either at the back or at the front are costing us.

I've said a fair amount of things I look back and regret now, It wasnt anything personal it was just frustration at the situation but we wont get out of this frustration by slagging each other.

Lets start to believe that this club can get better and will get better and make it happen.

I don't think anyone is blaming anyone other than our piss poor performance for yesterdays result. Similarly, we all acknowledge that we are not putting away the chances we are creating. If we had, then the reffing decisions which have gone against us in the last few weeks would be irrelevant - and we woldn't even be mentioning them. Some of us are just reacting to the claims that that offence was not a red card offence. We have all seen similar offences that hve resulted in a red card.

Is the inconsistency that frustrates me.

Onwards and upwards though. Robbie Raeside in charge for next week?

I think you've hit the nail on the head there. Everybody's natural reaction to this was that it should have been a freekick and yellow card (or red). But looking closer at the rules shows that it's a pretty grey area.

Personally, I don't agree at all that to make a slight mis-judgement in a fraction of a second could be considered serious foul play, but if others have a different opinion then the rule should be clarified. It's not even the refs' fault (I mean referees in general). There is room within the rules as they stand for no action, a freekick only, a freekick and booking, and a freekick and red card all to have been the correct decision. Frankly, the rules in this situation are a total farce.

On one hand I want Robbie to get it but at the same time he's doing a decent enough job with the under 19's. But right now the first team have to take priority.

The ref I was talking to came from the angle that he chose to catch the ball when he had other legal options ( ie punch, head etc ). At the end of the day, it cant be construed as a slight misjudgement. The pictures show that one foot was a yard outside the box and the other foot clearly also outside the box.

Comletely agree with your post though. I'm very much a black and white person. I hate all this namby pamby " grey area " stuff where theres no clarity.

I hate the offside rule for the same reason. They should scrap offside and have a free for all. At least everyone will know where they stand.

The correct decision would have been to award a free kick and take no further action.

If a goalkeeper handles outside the box, it's a free kick
If a goalkeeper knowingly handles outside the box, it's a free kick and a yellow card due to 'unsporting behaviour'
If a goalkeeper knowingly handles outside the box and prevents a clear goalscoring opportunity, then a free kick would be awarded and a red card shown.

A red card for 'serious foul play' would only be given if the keeper continued to handle the ball outside the area and gained any kind of significant advantage (ie running up the field with the ball in his hands)

It is my opinion that the first instance should have been the correct course of action.

And the end of the day even if you had the goalie sent off we would still have no doubt struggled to win and then found some other excuse or some other scapegoat to blame.

Very true and i still say he should have been sent off but i also said in another rant that at THE VERY LEAST it should have been a free kick and a booking.We could play aw year and not score more than 1 goal in a game but it doesnt excuse the refs from being pish.

The major talking point though. For me the Hogarth incident was a red card. If he never handled it we are in posession 18 yards from goal with no goaly. That sounds like a goalscoring opportunity to me, however I won't argue with anyone who suggests that the boy from iceland would've ballooned it anyway!

As for Rovers fans claiming we are as good a team as Stirling I have one word....... nonsense!

That reminds me of a game we played against Falkirk at Brockville, we were 1 down when Bobby Geddes brings down Mo Johnston in the box, the ball breaks to Ally Graham 6 yards out and an open goal, ref then blows for a penalty. Geddes then saves the penalty and we go on to win 3-1.

The report in the paper the next day said the ref could have only given a penalty due to the ball landing at the feet of Ally Graham 6 yards out, with an open goal, meaning in the refs mind there was no advantage.
