Went to my first game a few weeks back. Canucks v Blue Jackets, nothing too glamorous but my Thistle luck must have rubbed off on them, Canucks 2-0 after 2 and with a 22-0-0 record when winning after 2 periods, lost 3-2 in overtime.

I'm a Ducks fan. We have come into great form since Teemu Selanne's return. You can catch some NHL action on Channel 5 in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Well we lost to St Louis yesterday 4-3 in a shootout
It was a good chance too aswell to open up a 4pt gap over Ottawa at the top of our division even though they have a game in hand.
The NY Rangers are on a bit of a run at the moment with two good wins over the Pens and Devils.
Detroit beat Columbus 3-1 and clinched the division, Buffalo beat Tampa Bay 7-4 today aswell and currently Chicago are belting Washington 5-0
I was expecting the Capitals to win that one.
Anyway bring on the Bruins tomorrow
Go Habs Go!!

Boston are brutal right now, Habs should walk that.
Pens play Lightning at home tonight, these are never the most exciting matches but nonetheless I'll be watching.
Go Penguins!

Canucks are building up a bit of momentum, take on the Wild tonight to go top of the Northwest, which is their only chance of progressing past round 1 of the playoffs I think, unless we get 6th which also gives us a chance, can't afford 4,5 or 7th but could maybe catch the Redwings cold if we finish 8th. I'm now convinced we will make the playoffs, which probably means they will screw it up somehow.

With Atlanta giving up this year, i haven't followed it really. Penguins are looking very good for the Stanley cup this year however. They put everything they could into getting Hossa (who should be back fit soon) which gives them 3 of the top scoring offenseman in the game (Hossa, Malkin and Crosby).

Will be a struggle to fit them all in at once, but they should always be able to have at least one of them on the ice at at time.
Hossa won't be in Pittsburgh next season anyway, they have publicly come out and said the priority is to keep Evgeni Malkin and Jordan Staal, and then they'll see if they have the funds to keep Marian Hossa, which will be a struggle really.
Massive game in the Eastern tomorrow night, Pens taking on the Devils, I think the winner will end up coming out on top of the conference.

Love ice hockey. Went to Vancouver with my school on a rugby tour and stayed with a guy who was into it in a big way. Ever since then I've been hooked, and a hardcore Canucks fan! Wished I had the chance to go and watch one of their games whilst over there.
Go Canucks!
Go Canucks!

You beat us to get Hossa as he was like the only player we were after so to add him with Malkin, Crosby and Staal in your team you have a very decent squad.
We beat Boston again so thats 2 wins against the Bruins in the past few days and 8 wins against them this season

Clearly the Wings aren't going to win the Cup
They have done too well in the regular season to win
They have done too well in the regular season to win
It's getting kind of hard to believe things are going to get better. I've been drowning too long to believe that the tide is going to turn. And I've been living too hard to believe things are going to get easier now. I'm still trying to shake off the pain from the lessons I've learned. And if I see Van Helsing, I swear to the lord I will slay him. AHA HA HA. He take you from me but I swear I won't let it be so. AHA HA HA. Blood, will run done his face, when he is decapitated AH! His head on my mantle is how I will let this world know...how much I love you.

GO HABS GO!!!
Today we finally beat Ottawa 7-5
We were 7-1 up and then the Senators came back with 4 in the 3rd period
We stay top of the Eastern Conference and now have a 7 point lead over Ottawa
The Pens lost to the NY Islanders which was a bit of a surprise and now they play the Devils who beat them a couple of days ago. Colorado beat Calgary 2-0 and Edmonton beat Minnesota 5-3 in the other matches.
Today we finally beat Ottawa 7-5

Pittsburgh have just beaten NYR to go top of the Eastern. Deecent game, we had 3 PPs without any shots though which is unusual. Hossa got a goal too which I was happy about, and also Crosby getting back in was important. He looked good.
Go Penguins!

I know there was a previous NHL thread but it's a long way away and I can't search for it as NHL has less than 4 letters
So who do we think looks good so far? Obviously Pens looked pretty good destroying Ottawa, but they were on their way down anyway. The Rangers have been decent but they've owned the Devils all season, and if Avery wins the SC I'll be devastated. I'm mainly a West Coast follower though and nobody over here really looks like doing it if I'm honest, Sharks and Red Wings have been disappointing so far, so I'd back Penguins or the Habs to win it, hopefully the Habs, as long as it isn't the Rangers, Flyers or fucking Flames.

You have two of the best players in the NHL in attack, but a weak defence, basically. So now you know.

Sharks currently standing at two games apiece with Calgary. Game five is currently on the air, and it stands at 0-0.

Always happy to see the Flames lose, brings some joy back to a bad day after the Habs and Caps lost and I failed an exam.

Obviously, I have been the kiss of death for the Devils. 1-3 down against the Rangers, a team we have a 1-7 regular season record against (and that 1 was the last game of the regular season when there was nothing to play for).
We're fecked

Well, they certainly have been playing some oddly ramshackle hockey in the post season. Incidentally, the Sharks won today to take a lead in the series, thus proving the unwritten rule in hockey true... give the puck to Joe Thornton. Good lord he is a heck of a player.

Consider them merged.

The Pens totally destoyed the Senators, which is great cause I hate Danny Alfredsson. 11 years of straight playoff action and captain magnificent has still never won anything!
Crosby and Malkin are awesome together, what a paretenership. With Ryan Malone playing well to, I've got to (with complete bias) go for the Pens to win the Cup.
The Montreal - Boston tie is very interesting, if Boston win the next game (it's in Montreal so I doubt it) it's going to a 7th match. I'd love to see that, partly because I don't like Montreal, partly because Tim Thomas is one of my favourite goalies.
The surprise team for me so far has been the Flyers though, jeezo, Washington absolutely rampaged the tail end of the season yet one more win in D.C. for the Flyers and the Caps are out. It's a shame really, cause I quite like them, but the fact that they qualified has IMO guarenteed Alex Ovechkin the MVP award for this season.
Anyway, that's my input so far. Oh, that and the fact that I'm shocked that with the quality of Datsyuk et all that the Detroit Red Wings haven't managed to murder the Predators.
For now, GO PENGUINS!
