So far this season I am approx £250 up, so I doubt the bookies really do love me.

In a crucial game, I often back against my own team as it is basically a no lose situation. I would gladly lose any amount of money (realistically) for Scotland to have beaten or drawn with France, so i frankly don't give a f**k!

Also, what really pisses me off is when someone posts a bet they are making then people gloat when it does not come up, a fair few of my friends do it, Jammy and Neilly are about the only 2 that don't, as they are the sort of people who actually have the balls to take a risk.

Fair do's for coming out and saying that. Neilly backs you up further up this post, so got no beef with your bet against Scotland. Originally did, as thought you did not want us to win.

ps for the record I never take the piss out of losing bets!

The Stenny collapse at the end of last season was extremely profitable for me unfortunately.

When gambling, it is best not to blinker yourself with club views(unless doing it for the reasons I do). I view every team as fair game to back against and without comprimising my love/hate for any team.

That is my biggest problem when it comes to gambling, I sometimes go with my heart rather then head and refuse to back clubs I hate even though you just know they are going to win. I tend not to back clubs I support, although this season I have done it and been caught out by 2 injury time goals against them.

I still don't think i could bet on a team I hate, I just couldn't bring myself to want them to win. Same with any horse with Jamie Spencer on board. That jockey is a prize c*nt. Lost count how many times he has let me down in the past and refuse to bet on him. The amount of poor runs he has had when he has been on the fav is shocking.

Take no offence from me Fudge, just a little laugh that's all. And although i too am just about breaking even this season, i have made some stupendously silly bets and often get it wrong. :)

Probably the fact you said France to win so LOUDLY AND PROUDLY that people couldn't wait to rub it in yer face :)

But apart from that, noone should ever gloat about losing bets if people have the balls to post them before the event. It's the buggers that come on after-eventing - boasting about their winnings AFTER the game without posting their picks previously, that annoy me.

I hate betting on Scotland or Arbroath, coz i always feckin jinx us!

It is easy looking back and saying, what a waste of money, but if you look at it obectibvely, France 4/6to beat Scotland was a ridiculously good price.

Agreed, i'd have made France shorter odds.

I could never bet against us though

Fudge is as big a Scotland fan as you will get
No, he's not. I know loads of Scotland fans and none of them would ever bet against the team. In fact, most of them did as I did on Saturday and backed Scotland to beat the French because we were massively overpriced. Out of interest, was he at the game on Saturday?

Correct. I was also having a go at him before the game because of that.

No, it wasn't. Scotland 9/2 to beat France was a ridiculously good price. Like DJP earlier in the thread, I don't buy this no-lose situation bollocks. But unlike him, I'm not going to give you the benefit of the doubt afterwards. If you'd said it quietly and explained your reasons beforehand, then I might have. But you didn't so, as I've already said, GIRFUY.
Incidentally, how much did you lose? Whatever it was, it wasn't enough.
For ever and ever, my heart will be true ...

If theres one thing that get's on my nerve's about Pie and Bovril, its the amount of poster's who dont know how to use apostrophe's. So heres a lesson for you's - if in doubt, leave them out. I also hate 'of' instead of 'have' and piss-poor speeling. Its my own fault its been bugging me for a while, as I should of thought of pointing this out sooner. Proberly

That is annoying, but I think "aftertiming" is worse, when people come on on a Sunday or Monday to tell of the huge winners they had the day before, which conveniently they didn't mention beforehand.
