Also loved Friedel equalising for Blackburn against Charlton who then scored pretty much straight from kick-off

I remember McFarlane scoring for the accies against us on a miserable midweek evening, that was in the death throes of the Shannon era and I was almost glad to see the ball in the net.
Any Forfar fans mind Stuart Garden going up for a corner at new Bayview when they were 1-0 down with about 8 minutes to go?

Dunno if it's been mentioned, but did Paul Robinson not score past Ben Foster last season for Tottenham against Watford? A freakish bounce in front of the Man Utd kid if memory serves...

Charlie Kelly (?) scored for East Stirling at Somerset in a 3-3 draw, early 80s. Wasn't there myself, but was told that it was a wee bit breezy to say the least. Apparently he put ES 3-2 up only for Ayr to manage an equaliser against said wind.
Kelly it was. 3rd Jan, 1981. I was there, as Max Boyce would say, only time I've ever seen a goalkeeper scoring. Bounced around 20 yards out, Ayr keeper Stuart Rennie had come too far off his line, got a touch as it passed over his head but not enough to keep it out. Tannoy announcer credited it to Rennie (og), but it was Kelly's goal. "Wee bit breezy" to the extent that Ayr corners were going clear over the roof behind the Shire goal in the first half, and Shire only got into Ayr's half once.

I remember being at an Airdrie- Celtic game in the seventies. I think it was Evan Williams who threw the ball into his own net to score for Airdrie, although it probably didn't matter as I think we were up about 36-0 at the time.

Ian MacFarlane scored with a 92 yard punt at New Bayview on a freezing cold night the year we won the Third Division. Being the big dumpling he is, he immediately ran to the side of the park to celebrate with the fans, before realising the only thing over there was a concrete wall and a power station!!!
