I don't agree with some of his opinions, but I don't really see what's making folk so mad. We're a decent enough team, with a couple of major deficiencies (especially at centre half, where our options are beyond push), but we lack top quality players.

Who have we proven we're better than? Ireland, maybe, I guess?

It would be nice if WGS had made a conscious decision not to talk about Scotland while the tournament was on, considering we're an irrelevance at this stage. He's coming across as a man desperate for excuses, whether you think he's the man for the job or not.

Plenty teams who qualified - and several who've made the knockouts - also lack top quality players.

Against that background, and all 4 other British Isles nations making R2 (and Iceland, Slovakia and Hungary), he'd be better just saying nothing. Whether or not he's right... and it's hard to justify the comment that we're "better" than some of them based on beating Eire at home and some friendly results v Croatia... it's only going to get some people's backs up, and makes others look on bemused.

The mentality is fantastic. We just need to find the best system with the best players we've got for this next campaign.

So three games to find "the best system" before finishing 3rd behind England and Slovakia. Then the inevitable "Well, if you ignore those opening three games it's a good campaign".

Rinse and repeat.

Oh great another one where everybody throws their toys out of the pram instead of looking at things logically.

7 out of 8 good results in qualifying.

In Gord we trust.

A draw against Ireland is not good enough, they're shite and he fucked it by playing negatively. Drawing at home to Poland when we needed a win is a shite result as well. And there is never an excuse for losing to Georgia, there is no 'logic' behind backing Strachan after that aberration.

Like he's done the whole time he's been in charge, Georgia away aside?

He really hasn't though. Which is why we're incapable of getting results above our level. And in the case you mention, even going the other way.

We played well against both Germany and Poland and threw points away against both.

Well maybe Strachan should start pulling some decent players out of his arse eh.

Where are ROI's, NI's, Hungary's, Albania's, or Romania's great players?

Plenty of mediocre teams made it but, thanks to Stachan, we stayed at home.
