Budgets Next Season

Recommended Posts

How would they rate from 1st - 10th???

Happy to hear more educated thoughts, I would guess:

1 Hibs

2 Dundee U

3 Falkirk

4 St Mirren

5 QOS

6 Morton

7 Raith

8 Dunfermline

9 Ayr

10 Dumbarton.

I think there will be little difference from 3rd to 8th.

Might have put Pars higher but the championship clubs should be a little more flush after last two seasons.

Ayr and Dumbarton staying part time I believe.

Alex Rae (on Off The Ball) seemed to be suggesting we could offer higher wages than St Mirren.

Our budget is lower than last season apparently, so I'd imagine we'll comfortably be bottom. I think Dunfermline pay reasonably well, so I'd have them a bit higher. I'd guess something like this:

Hibernian

Dundee United

Falkirk

Dunfermline

St Mirren

Raith

Morton

Queen of the South

Ayr

Dumbarton

As you say though, I'd imagine between St Mirren and Queens could be in any order.

Could be because a number of the players already signed up at Dunfermline will be on less cash than most of the players already signed up at St Mirren surely. That will give them a bit more to play with in terms of offering wages to new players.

1 Dundee United 2 Hibs 3 Falkirk 4 St Mirren 5 Dunfermline 6 Queen of the South 7 Raith Rovers 8 Morton 9 Dumbarton 10 Ayr

I'd be shocked if Ayr's budget is less than ours but you never know.  I'll go for:

Hibs

Dundee United

Falkirk

St Mirren

Morton

Dunfermline

Raith

Queens

Ayr

Dumbarton

You have been in a higher league than us for four seasons. If it isn't then heads should be rolling.

This might surprise you, but we're not just sitting in this league coining it in.  It costs money to put a competitive team on the park, in fact it costs pretty much all of the money we take in each season (along with help from fundraisers) for us to stay in this league. We've not been saving Rangers/Hearts/Hibs money, we've spent it.

Ayr have a bigger capacity, larger home support and a rich owner that appears to at least show some interest in the team.  We have a small away end capacity, a shite unenthusiastic home support and owners that could not give a flying f**k about the team.  If Ayr's isn't bigger then heads should be rolling.

As Alloa have left, it has to Dumbarton with the lowest budget in the league. Even though they have been in the championship for a longer time they will still have less than Ayr. No doubt about that! However, fair play to Dumbarton well run club that gets it's rewards.

Careful now.

You'll get some of the uneducated crying that we're living beyond our means again when Rae said the reason we could offer the player in question higher wages is because of our lifeline scheme.

For those who don't know, our fans pay £20 a month which goes towards the club to use in whatever way they wish.

That's okay till folk get fed up or find they cant afford it any more. What happens then?

Obviously we go in to administration and pay 0p in the pound before narrowly avoiding liquidation. Get it up you

Lining your director pockets hopefully.
