wintonfan Posted May 23, 2016 Share Posted May 23, 2016 this has to be a load of pie and bovril, moving to what is closer to kilwinning than any housing areas in stevenston would not work, ardeer stadium is in the centre of the town and they cannot attract many fans. Plus the old diehards would never entertain a merger between 2 rivals. Saltcoats IMO blew it bigtime when St matthews was getting built, they should have been working with the council (having ray and jim montgomerie on board would have helped massively) they built the athletics track at st matthews which is far better logistically than campbell park, with the sale of campbell park to the caravan site then the funds could have been used for the dressing rooms and spectator facilities at the running track and saltcoats would have had a smashing wee ground. Speaking to Peter Keane this morning and he was saying about a massive sponsor coming in. New pitch being relayed and money to buy players. Gareth Armstrong the new manager with the Guy Mark Mccann and Del last years manager. Gareth will have a massive impact with his experience. Good luck to him.
