BBC Bias

How come The Rangers fans singing sectarian filth passed without comment for 90 minutes and even after full time but Hibs fans were labelled a disgrace the minute they stepped onto the pitch to celebrate their greatest triumph since 1902?

Discuss.

They're too scared to mention anything negative related to Sevco. Despite the fact they're already banned* from Ibrox and so have nothing to lose.

*Well, it's a mutual thing - until Sevco let Chris McLaughlin back in, the BBC will keep themselves out. Although I expect there to be a resolution just before the first time Celtic visit Ibrox next season...

Why also did they not comment about the smoke bombs / flares where in the first half it was quite evident.

Hope they get a severe fine although they will probably get away with it.

Pity Hibs didn't get to do a lap of honour.

When we won in 2014 that was fantastic and there was no trouble because we were playing against reasonable fans who after the game were able to congratulate us on the way back to the car. That is the way to play the game.

Said earlier that the TV commentary team talked non stop about Rangers during the game. No doubt in my mind that there is significant pro Rangers sentiment there.

The sectarian singing continues in this day and age because the broadcasters accept it. They hold the financial power and could stop it almost overnight if they chose to do so. For example, not televising rangers home games and withholding money if there was continued evidence of it, insisting clauses in the TV contracts that allow money to be deducted from offending clubs, etc.... Hit them where it hurts. And I mention Rangers specifically as they are by miles the worst offenders.

Can't believe we still get this in 2016. Must be a load of really thick fucks out there.

Why did that stop a lap of honour? All the fans were back in the stands

Because they couldn't be trusted to remain there.  Both sets.  Hibs fans kind of Hibsed it there.

Old Firm fans in general follow for glory . The concept that sport has winners and losers is alien. Even more alien is that the little guy occasionally has his day in the sun * and you can be also ran on such a day .

* shine on leith

I wonder how fair it is for Rangers fans to verbally abuse Alan Stubbs ? Or Hibs fans to physically abuse Rangers players or staff? Any difference? Yet all the talk is about the behaviour of the Hibs

fans.

The reason so many fans follow Rangers and Celtic is that they are utter losers.  Dumb fucks.  Bottom of the food chain.  The sort of people that any immigrant coming to this country immediately surpasses by being able to write and speak better English despite being educated in a third world country.  Thick c***s.  The most desperate and superfluous strands of DNA in the country.

They are utter detritus.  Scum of the earth.  Utter failures.  And because of that they latch on to the only successful thing they will ever be part of - a football team.

Of course they lack the intelligence to see that any reveling in any success is so ironic the joke is ultimately on them because they are thick c***s.

Bit of a generalisation. I know lots of old firm fans who are very intelligent and good people and successful in what they choose to do. I do believe though that there is a large number of "hangers on" who attach themselves to the OF because it's the only way they can feel a part of something successful. But it's a long way from being all of them.

What was sung, super Rangers? Billy boys?

They belong in the past, if they ever did belong.

Cheer up Stubbs etc.

But yes, all of the above. No mention of that disgrace from today's broadcasters. Hibs were slaughtered even before the Stone Island mob had started towards the Rangers end.
