craigkillie
The top three derbies are obvious, then pretty much everyone is going to think theirs is the 4th. Raith v Pars, St Mirren v Morton and Falkirk v Pars are all about the same. The Ayrshire derby is fairly obviously bigger than any of these. We had over 25,000 for a League Cup semi - none of those other fixtures would get close to that. Falkirk and Dunfermline couldn't even muster up 18k for a Scottish Cup semi. The last league meetings of Raith v Dunfermline and St Mirren v Morton reeled in attendances in the region of 4000. They just don't have the same pull as an Ayrshire derby. Black and White Tragic
Falkirk v Pars isn't really a derby.. Just because they hate each other doesn't mean it's a derby.. Our derby is now Hibs. Some twat has decided it would be good to make Dunfermline a part of Edinburgh.

You do have a lot of people from Edinburgh living in Dunfermline so you can see why
Broony88
To be fair I don't know what you're laughing at, he hasn't said anything that isn't true. It's obviously not a huge game in your opinion because the teams have been leagues apart for years. It is easily bigger than St Mirren v Morton and probably on a par with Raith V Dunfermline. CALDERON
The Ayrshire derby only seems huge as Ayr have been utterly shit for years. Play each other 4 times a season for a few years and the appeal will lessen.

Just another attempt by our overlords in Glenrothes to degrade the biggest town in Fife and one time capital of our nation, to make a buck. RUSTY1111
When was the last time there was a league season without both the Edinburgh and Dundee derbies? Was it 1981? It was indeed season 1980-81 since the top flight failed to have at least one of these derbies featuring there. Hibernian won Division One and Dundee were promoted as runners-up and Hearts were relegated with Kilmarnock. Season 1981-82 then featured the Dundee derby once again. HoBNob
We'll see next season, the crowds of all 3 derbies, plus the coverage all 3 get from the media.. The Ayr one will get the most coverage because it's the most "rare" it happens once in a blue moon, I can't even remember the last time they played each other in the league. If Ayr manage to get promoted and stay for more than a season the attendances will go down because they won't be seen as such a rarity. I'd expect it should have got a bigger attendance at Hampden also, Kilmarnock and Ayr have a massive catchment area compared to Dunfermline, Falkirk and Raith. It is embarrassing that since Fife Council was formed from the amalgamation of the districts, that our town has been slowly run down by those at Fife House who channel funding away, to seaside novelty resorts like Kirkcaldy. Never mind global warming will take care of you soon ;-)

baillieinleeds
Did you not do geography at school?Kirkcaldy isn't flat though. The only hilly bit in Dunfermline is Garvock Hill, the rest of it is quite flat. Anyway if Mossmoran goes it'll take us all out.

Same with other infrastructure being built. They have always been far behind Dunfermline in way of these points.

The Ayrshire derby is at least 4th. There is a fair argument that its a far bigger rivalry than the Dundee one too to be honest. In fact so could St Mirren v Morton be.
