Labour suspends Momentum's Vice-Chair for anti-semitism

"Jackie Walker, a vice chair in the Momentum movement, wrote about "the African holocaust" and Jews as "chief financiers of the sugar and slave trade".

 

In a statement, she said: "I have been suspended from the Labour Party for alleged anti-Semitic comments. I have been an active anti-racist trainer and campaigner for years, often in all white communities and in the most vulnerable situations. 

 

"I have been spat at and beaten by racists. I have marched against the fascists, defended minorities, am of Jewish decent as is my partner. If they can do this to me they can do it to anyone."

 

"She is vice-chair of Momentum's National Steering Committee and also vice-chair of South Thanet Labour party in Kent.

 

 

"A spokesperson for Momentum said it "unambiguously condemns anti-semitism and welcomes Jeremy Corbyn's launch of an expert-led inquiry", adding "we will look into the claims made in this article"."

Is she saying that she is part-Jewish with the "my ancestors too" bit? Can see how she entered dangerous waters with those comments from a PC sort of standpoint and that she was setting herself up to be a target of a backlash, but I seriously doubt she he has anything in common with nutters like David Duke, who would highlight and exagerate that sort of thing out of genuine anti-semitism.

At the risk of this thread getting locked like the last one which tried to discuss the facts behind the fictions, slavery has long been a controversial topic within Judism because of the Babylonian and Egyptian civilisations using them as slave fodder down the centuries.

It was considered a matter of a house's honour that their slaves were well treated, and any Jewish slave of a Jewish master had to be released after seven years.

 

During the expansion of world trade, Jewish slave traders existed all over the world, but when it comes to the sugar & slave trades, Jewish involvement could easily fit on the head of that same pin Pope Pius IX wondered how many angels could dance on. Slavery was largely a fetish of Christian and Islamic societies: moreover the "red tape" concerning slavery to Jews (from the Talmud and from non-Jewish authorities) made them "uncompetitive" compared to British & French Christian slavers, who tended to have the same morality towards their "human resources" as today's recruitment agencies do with theirs!

Jews and Quakers dominated the banking industry until the 19th century due to the hypocritical Christian and Islamic rules on usury (wouldn't do it themselves, happy to let others do it for them & borrow from them): as such they could find themselves playing an important role in ensuring the smooth financial transactions of the world's early proto-"multi-nationals" like the Dutch East Indies Company and the British East India Company which both - amongst many, many other items - traded in slaves.

 

To further put the Nation of Islam's idiotic claims into context, ironically neo-Nazis and the more bigotted Southerners regarded Martin Luther King Jr and the black emancipation movement of the 1960s as being yet another "Jewish conspiracy"!

 

So to cut a long story short, the Jews yet again simply get blamed because they were/are a tiny enough group throughout history to bully with little chance of reprisals - same as the Zoroastrians were in Persia and West Asia. It's also no coincidence in both cases they were/are scapegoated and persecuted within largely illiterate/sub-literate populations.
