Spiders_Man
Don't read this much and can't find anything on here. Somebody was telling me that Montrose Roselea are moving to play in the North Region, is this true ? If so what does that mean to the promotion and relegation in the East division this season ? Burnie_man
It’s not being discussed too much, with Armadale/Bathgate warfare going on! Is this just another rumour or is it actually happening? Are there any rules covering this sort of move? it’s unheard of for a club to move Regions. I guess that would mean that either one less club is relegated from the Premier (if Montrose don’t finish in the relegation zone), or one extra club promoted from the District Leagues. Dunny13
As far as I heard Burnie_man it's 3 down this year. Looks like Montrose would have stayed up

elton
So where are they going? into the Superleague I assume. If so that will make 15 teams. Maybe they'll be shunted into the Div 1 'east'

Fair points. I suppose they could end up being 1 of the 4 relegated anyway.
Legend5
Sets a a bit of a precedent. Surely you would rather see a club continue whatever league they are in rather than go under due to the expense of travel??
jaggywaggy
if they finish in the bottom four it makes no odds. if they finish outside the bottom four then there will only be three clubs relegated.

But it does set a precedence, and I guess there is always the option of voluntary demotion to the North District if travel is an issue. What happens eg. Fauldhouse fancy the West or Shotts and Forth fancy a crack at the East?

victor meldrew
I think it's pretty poor that the changes can be made during a season that instead of 4 going down it might just be 3.
Deadly
I think it's pretty poor that the changes can be made during a season that instead of 4 going down it might just be 3. Happened last year with ballingry folding. Ended up 3 going down instead of 4 but it dragged on quite a while. Teams need to know ASAP what position (4th or 5th bottom) keeps them up. At least montrose have finished their season , so no ifs and buts about their points total

You don't deserve to know in advance teams have known what keeps them up. If they get lucky after finishing 4th bottom then fair enough. But to say teams need to know isn't true if their not good enough why do they need to know if hey are getting lucky?
