Mattmc
Well done to Saints. Wonder what the standard will be like should they go to the Lowland League. Wigtown and Newton no where near as good as they were a season or two ago. If any of the junior team saw the South League as entry to Lowland then League 2 you'd fancy them to stroll the South League. Any word of any new entrants for next season? Had read of Third Lanark looking to move from amateur.
lowenan
From the Daily Record: "Saints have lost just once in the league so far this season – to closest rivals Edusport Academy – and are likely to play in the Lowland League next season if they meet the licensing criteria. Cameron said: “I’ll be there next season and I believe the licence will be in place by the end of the month. “The only thing that is needed is a toilet block to go in and it has been ordered from Glasgow. “I’ve been looking to sign players who are already in the Lowland League but there are obviously restrictions in places with contracts and I wanted to wait until we knew we had won the league. For the next six or seven weeks it’ll be full-steam ahead.â€" Read more at http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/local-sport/st-cuthbert-wanderers-claim-south-7804079#lGHEdvCQvqVzVTow.
edinabear
Well done St Cuthberts. There should be no reason that they are not playing Lowland League next year. With East Stirling possibly getting relegated, its good to see the Pyramid now beginning to work. Now all we need is for the East Juniors to merge with East of Scotland, West Juniors with South of Scotland and North Juniors with Highland League and we have it! LongTimeLurker
Don't hold your breath on the last part. It would have already happened by now, if the SFA actually wanted it to. Change that radical would run counter to too many vested interests.
theProdigy
Now all we need is for the East Juniors to merge with East of Scotland, West Juniors with South of Scotland and North Juniors with Highland League and we have it! Not going to work... A lot of the teams in the West Juniors are closer to the East teams than the south!! You could maybe put teams like Girvan and Maybole but best bet would be to form a West of Scotland League... Also adding a few tiers under the Highland League (as well as South and East) would be a good idea too... Problem is that the Junior teams don't/won't want to be involved!! LeedsPhil
What's the current status / forward timeline of St.Cuthberts' licence ? Last mention on here said it would be "by the end of the month" (April). It's now mid May. I don't find any mention out there in internetland. Anybody know what's happening? No St Cuthberts licence = St Cuthberts and Threave Rovers both stay put. St Cuthberts licence = St Cuthberts and Threave Rovers swap leagues. ...unless I'm wrong and Threave are coming down anyway, regardless of whether or not St Cuthberts are eligible. It is posted over on the Lowland League thread that the 6th of June is the date when they'll decide who from the new applicants gets their expansion slot. I guess they'd want this other element sorted out by then too (?), especially if I am wrong above, in which case they need to know whether they've got just one, or actually two, vacancies to offer. HibeeJibee
Threave won't be relegated unless St Cuthbert are promoted. They weren't relegated last season when neither LTHV or Wigtown were licensed.

Whitburn Vale
Seems a bit odd that you order in toilet blocks from Glasgow, build a cracking wee enclosure, build a perimeter fence, install a 3G/4G surface etc if you don't want to progress.
info
Maybe happier football and finance wise playing in the South. Is that such a terrible sin? Football does not begin and end in the Central Belt.

Football does not begin and end in the Central Belt.Get your point info,I love all non league fitba regardless of where they play.I've got a soft spot for Saints,I was at St.Mary's in October and was well impressed, maybe all the work going in is for a license/later scottish cup entry rather than entry to the LL. Match of the Day
I would like to see saints come up but cant see it. Plus they have a few players that left Threave & Dalbeattie cause they didnt want all the traveling that comes with playing in the L.L. So they might struggle for players that can play at that level
