F_T_Y
Why do west region games kick off half an hour earlier than east region. While in the north they start at two. South of Scotland and highland league plus lowland league all 3 o'clock kick off's.

Nugent4nil
Surely at this time of year everyone could kick off at 3. It seemingly got something to do with the Kingston Bridge, someone else, I'm sure, will fill you in with the details.

Ali_Wee_Jag
Cause it's always been done like that. This is the Juniors and we don't change for changes sake.
Brig O'Lea
As usual with a lot of these things it is down to the clubs. There was a motion to move to 3pm put forward by Johnstone Burgh at last year's West Region AGM. One of the main arguments for it was the lunchtime Sky Sports brigade wandering in at half time after the Chelsea - Liverpool game or whatever. One of the main arguments against was that it's not just all over at the final whistle for those involved at a club. Players have to get dressed and attend post match hospitality, committee men have to sort out the used kit, take down, the goals, sweep out the dressing rooms and secure the park, or have a journey home from an away match. The argument was that a 2pm kick off allows those actively involved in putting on a game to get home at a decent time in readiness for the Saturday evening. For right or for wrong the majority voted for the status quo.

All these things equally have to happen in the East Junior, Highland, Lowland, EOS, SOS, etc. leagues... but they kick-off at 2:30pm or 3pm? Then that's their choice. It's a democracy. Maybe we have better Saturday nights out in the West
Thereisalight..
I don't see any reason why games shouldn't be played at 3pm come mid March tbh

Beenzon-Toste
Why does it have to be a 3-o-clock kick off? The traditional 3pm kick off comes from the dim and distant past, when pubs closed during the afternoon from 2:30 till 5. Since the all day licence came in there is no need for it now. Look at the senior game, kick offs can be anytime from 12 till early evening.

I just prefer 3pm as I finish work at 1 and it allows me to get home and change and then make an away game
HibeeJibee
Whatever its origins 3pm still has advantages of (1) falling between lunch and dinner; (2) after morning shifts; and (3) during TV blackout period. So do 2pm and 2:30pm, but to lesser degrees.
Shanner
What's wrong with 2pm? Nothing, I prefer the game to be out the way by 4pm.
